I guess now would be a good time to chime in and let you guys know I probably will not be making it down there either tomorrow.

That nerve issue I had before has come back. Luckily it's not a loss of sensation this time. Unluckily it is a shooting pain that makes it pretty annoying to drive at any scale at the moment.

how about the weekend of the 14th? just after neko and before hfay.

how willing would asome rc be to making elevated track supports similar to myrtle beach? i think we could make some more interesting track layouts if we could use another row of long staight thats above a lane.

We could but it is'nt as simple as it seems. I looks a little tricky to get it smooth. They used dense foam panels for the ups and downs, and plywood for the straight. I was thinking of using 1/4" masonite, its cheap. I think they used steel supports off the back wall for the straight, that way there was no need for supports infront of the track below and the track dose'nt need to be built around any supports. I could do the supports at work with some left over angle iron.

Honesly, I would like to build this but if we did I think it should be permanent. It would give us alot more room there. We could hold club races at Awesome and HFAY at HW.

masonite would be easier to work with maybe and dense enough to support the track.

i'm willing to volunteer time to help

It's going to be something we have to test. I have all the tools to do it, I just need to barrow my Dads truck to get the stuff and take it down there. I'll see if I can make the supports next week if I have some free time, if not I will just go in on a Sunday. It should only take a few hours to build the elevations in the room. I think we should keep it about 12-14 inches up and put the straight at an angle to help decrease the angle changes. Its going to be trial and error. I will see if i can get a few pointers from Landon on how he did his.

I'll be back at Awesome in a week or so, I will size up the space and see what we need. The side door to the room might be a problem, it may make us do the down slope sooner.

We should also check with the other guys to see if they are ok with this. I know Bill likes to practice for hfay there and this would make it impossible to do those track layouts.

maybe not impossible. depends on how much floor space is left after the up and down ramps.

Exactly, we will have to test to see how much of a slope we can go up and down without jumping.
