new z owner; m2 questions :-)

hi everyone, i am new to mini zs and to rc racing in general, so please bear with the neophyte questions :-) i am happy to say that i am the owner of a brand new m-02 and i absolutely love it!

i have read a few of the posts about the lack of rear traction and racing on low pile carpet, i've noticed that it has been an issue. i'm assuming that all of the tire sets out for the m1 are compatible with the new version? i'm thinking about getting some high grip wides to place in the rear...

i also have a question about roll shock sets...is there a compatibility issue with any of the ones already out when fitting them onto the m2 chassis? i would like to get a stiffer h plate and also a roll shock set to stabilize.

how is the gpm ball diff? i've heard differing opinions on gpm parts and was wondering how it performs.

for now i've set the chassis up with a set of bearings and have tried to lighten the chassis a little with some help from a dremel. i'd like to put the new pn low motor mount on with a new h plate, roll shock, and oil dampener in the back. any other suggestions to improve handling besides new kingpins?

lastly, does anyone know what autoscales kyosho has planned for the near future?

thanks a million for all your help!

I have no answers to your questions, but I just ordered one myself and am curious if anyone has any guesses as to when more bodies will be available. 2 months? 6 months? A year? Are there any plans for a mod to allow some of the old bodies to fit the new chassis (without dremeling out the wheel wells on the old bodies)?

Also (this probably should be asked in the F1 forum), does anyone know if there are plans (or available now) for F1 autoscale bodies with tires/dummy chassis?

Thanks...

-David

I can't answers any of your questions as well...the only compatible parts for the MR02 from the MR01 are:

Motor
Tires
Old H-plate + motor mount
Wheels
Bearings

Everything else won't fit and don't even try to put an external turbo. IT WILL BURN YOUR ESC!

GPM has recently released some new parts :

H plates
Ball diff (different from the old mini z)
Aluminum parts

As of now, that's about it...

About your kingpins, i haven't heard anyone making polished ones so you could try polishing yours as of now. Just attatch it to your dremel and polish it manually as of now
