"un" painting

is there a way to strip paint from the white mini-z bodies? i have recently painted a body with tamiya color and clear coat but can't stand the color. I wasn't sure if there was a good way to salvage the body and start over with a new color?

I tried removing paint on a body that I worked on and it was a terrible experience. I would reccomend just shooting some primer on the paint and start over. I did this to one body and it came out pretty good. This body was once yellow, but I re-did it.

you could try using Castrol super Clean or any brand of Brake Fluid. Here is a link from the automotive forum:

I tried that also and it still didn't remove all of the paint. Actually, I still have the new bottle of castrol super cleaner in my garage.

I agree with Roger. For painting over AutoScales I used a teflon pad wash the body, air dry and shoot it with Tamiya primer. If it is a body that I had painted at some point, I sand it with fine sandpaper first then hit it with primer. Sometimes i will sand it again and hit it one more time.

We discussed that couple of times. I'm using oven cleaner (degreaser) to do it. Get the strongest you can (the one that has most warnings on it ). If it's not original autoscale (i mean white body) take a chinese takout box, put the body in it and spray the cleaner all over. Leave overnight and remove the paint with toothbrush. Harmless to body, you can even leave the windows on.

i hinted that, but didn't stress it - sorry. Oven cleaner won't work on original paint....
