Mr-03 ve pcb

more information is being posted to the Kyosho blog showing the brushless PCB.

Quote:
FET capacity is about 150% compared with MR-03.
Quote:

seems like it's a little large in size as well. hopefully not to much so retrofits can still be done.

Brushless requires 6 fets, a standard forward/reverse esc requires 4 so adding one more makes sense. I think its pretty safe to assume they have a second set in parallel on the bottom of the board.

Next big question, will fet upgrades be possible with a brushless speed controller?

Next bigger question, will anyone be needing a fet upgrade if they are already running a brushless?!?!

I have no doubt that someone in this community will be the first to do it! If I can rely on one thing on this site, its that there is always that one guy who needs to build the fastest little hotrod out there!

fet upgrades / stacks are fully plausible on a brushless esc .. . . . will it be needed ? probably not
they still use P&N type fets but 3 rows one row per pole on the motor

I've just always wondered how tuned those signals are to those motors. It would make sense that if the output is equal on all three poles, it should function normally (I'm guessing). Had a few 10th scale ESC fry up on me and always wanted to re-fet them, it seemed finding the parts to match the existing was the toughest part.

I wonder if anyone can make out the numbers on those fets?

I know if I ever do get one... for that price, I'd be scared to drive it, let alone fet it! And it does seem highly unlikely that someone would need more speed.

Swapping the fets won't be a problem.(as long as you use good ones!)
A double stack should also be fine, more then that is just over kill and may just slow the response time of the fets switching on/off(a bad thing generally)

If they use the same fets the mr03 uses I'd just swap all 6 to something better.
