Brown Yota "clone"

After sold my LC80, I decided that I wanted a new rig. I came across this rare Aoshima Hilux model kit. It was very pricey, but I've yet seen this model kit mounted on the Losi Micro Crawler yet, so thought I should give it a try.

Starting with this stock LMC, the stock wheelbase line up with the body pretty well.

I like it lifted better.

Update: Chopped up the chassis, got the tranny fitted.

Then I notice that the tranny sit pretty far away from the frame, so I wanted to re-position it, but the bed got into the way. I had to cut out a small piece off the bed, so it will have enough room for the motor to fit.

Next, I cut up the interior floor.

After re-position, the tranny is now sit nice and flash with the frame.

Takes up so much interior space.

Now for a mock up with the axles.

The stance was a little high from the earlier stage, so I decided to lower it a bit. Had to cut out half of the gas tank to clear the axle.

Then I made some shorter shackles.

Now for the mock up.
