Question Antenna Alternative?

Hi all. I broke the antenna on my overland, the actual truck, not the transmitter. Anyway, there are no LHS in my area, so i have to order online. The replacement antenna is like $6 for a little piece of wire and costs me $3-$7 for shipping. I was wondering what i can use as an alternative? Thanx in advance!

Ach2B (Oh the great one.... ) used, I think, .32 or .032 inch music wire, and then plasti-dipped the end for no shorts.
Or, just buy an MZR antenna, here in the shop.

Last year around the Holidays in some toys for the kids I found in the trashpile some wire ties that hold some toys in place in the box.I saved them and tryed them on my Z for an antenna,Guess what it worked the range improved as well. The neat thing is I roll the car or hit anything with it it just bends down and I just bend it back up.Works like a charm. They have a jacket on them to boot.

Wow, i feel stupid now, i used those ties on my old tyco canned heat durango to improve the radio range, i can just take it from there or find a tie somewhere. Ill try that before i shell out the money on a new antenna and shipping. thanx!

i did the whip antenna mod. this is probably the easiest and cheapest mod, and makes your ride look that much more realistic.

i actually just made a new one out of smaller gauge piano wire so it looks more scale.
