One last note:
The time has arrived...
Just a reminder that tomorrow is practice from 5pm-9pm.
Doors open Saturday at 8am with the first race starting at 10am.
For those who have not been to Bowles Fluidics it is on Dobbin Road in Columbia Maryland. This area has very little signage (thanks to city covenants) so you might just drive right past our building. We will be putting out signs to make it easier to find but if you are really lost please feel free to call my cell phone (410-562-8346).
Also when you enter our drive take a left to go to the front of the building. Then the entrance for the track is immediatly on your right. I will leave the door open to make it obvious where you need to come in.
See you soon,
Russ

CONGRATULATIONS to the winners!
Russ, once again you've put on a wonderful event. thank you very much!
to those who missed it this year, you really did miss out. to the new drivers, glad to have met you and i look forward to seeing you next year!
despite loosing out 3rd place in the f1 main (not to say i would have finished in 3rd..) due to breaking another side plate i really enjoyed myself and that far outweighs any disappointment in getting knocked out of a race. it happens and it just wasn't my day for f1 having been nocked out of two races due to breaking a side plate. i'e never broken one of those before and yesterday i broke two... sometimes you just have that kind of luck. the upside of this is fellow drivers helped out with spare parts to keep me going. having never broken one before, so i never had extra's. that to me says a lot about the type of people and event it was. f1 racing is soo much fun!
i saw far less carnage this year than the pervious year although there was a dreaded fet board fire taking out a car. you really hate to see that happen to anyone.
next year, i plan on running at least 3 classes. i'll proably add 2wd mod. i have not driven my awd enough this year to be comfortable with it at all.
food was great as usual! weather was awsome! people were great! one of the best events you can attend in my opinion.

Once again the NCRC crew just outdid themselves again!
To all you people who missed the event, I'm going to pick on you all now...
The prizes were insane! I think everyone walked away with something, and not just trinkets either! Here's a quick list of what I remember:
Wide L RCP track
2.4 RTR MiniZ
RTR Rock crawler (Losi?)
RTR Kyosho 10th scaler
RTR Nitro car (not sure of the make)
18th scale Scalpel
Tony Stewart autographed helmet
Danica Patrick autographed mini helmet
Cal Ripken autographed baseball
3 or 4? NIB Autoscales
Team Scream matched cell set
GRP foam tire sets for everyone!
Tons of very cool extras... I can't even come close to remembering everything, but to watch guys walk out the door with armloads of all kinds of free gear was insane! Technically, their gas money and entry fees were more than covered with what they won! All of us DOW guys walked out of there with some very cool stuff and they fed us for the day and clothed us once again for the cold winter ahead!
Thanks to Russ and all of the NCRC crew, a great cause undertaken for a dear friend, I couldn't think of a greater crew to carry his light!

EVERYONE,
You made it a great event. We would simply have an empty room with prizes without you guys and you gave the spectators their money's worth (well admission was free, but you get my point).
The fellowship among the MiniZ/Micro racers is unmatched and your generosity made this event a TOTAL success.
Our goal was to raise $2500, and given these economic times we were delighted to keep counting all the way to $2298!!!
Ed, just to help add to your list:
Spektrum Radio System
Spektrum Micro Reciever
Team Scream 15T motors
Dynamite Driver sets (3x)
Losi Rock Crawler RTR
The Nitro Kit was a Kyosho Mini Inferno (with engine)
Autographed T-shirts
AutoArt Clocks (F1 Steering wheel style & Brake Disc style)
Helios Castroneves autographed mini helmet - its easier to remember the Danica one.
Insane prizes were all thanks to our sponsors who all pulled through in an obviously difficult year:
Kyosho
AutoArt
Spektrum
MiniZRacer/TinyRC
GRP Gandini Tyres
Ripken Baseball
CoreSpeedway
RCP Tracks
RC Car Action
HobbyTown USA - Glen Burnie
Team Scream
Bowles Fluidics Corp (facility and t-shirts)
and
Chicken Out Restaurants - Columbia
It is a promise that next year will be just as good and maybe this time we will have that live band during Friday night's practice.
Things ran fairly smooth with only one hiccup to think of. I can't speak for others car problems but lets just say I borrowed a car for the MiniZ Stock A Main.
More info will be posted on our website and official pictures will be exclusively here at MiniZRacer.com. ARCH - Please setup gallery and I will add pics.
Once again, thank YOU for coming. We had everyone return from last year except 4 people. I hope those guys can make it next time around. DoW and NoVa racers were well represented and walked away with alot of metal. Good driving guys.
In the meantime, enjoy racing and we hope to host the DC Endurance Race again in 2009.
With Sincere Thanks,
Russ
p.s. We are running out of ideas for prizes so please put some thought to that and let me know. The sky is the limit (excl. a real car).

K_bojar,
You bet. Next year I'll make sure I have a good car and actually practice. Then maybe I can be a contender.

I hear that...I haven't touched my cars since early last this year
So then I'll need lots of practice as well Would like to have a rematch from last year

Good times!
Well I have to say I had a great time at the race! Everything was top notch. Russ and the staff did an excellent job of facilitating the event.
The coolest thing for me was putting a face to some of the names here on the forum. It was great meeting all you guys.
Oh yeah, did I mention all of the cool prizes and great food. My buddy and I walked away with at least $400.00 worth of prizes!
The only thing that would have made things any better is if I could have gotten one of the cool trophies for crappiest driver or something.
Any way, I hope things are well with all in Mini-z land. Hope to see some of you soon at Necokon!
Jay
