Just curious, what type of short-hair carpet material do you use? And where can it be easily purchased? Somewhere such as a local hardware store (ie. Lowe's, Home Depot)

Hello, for me, I found carpet for show or exhibitions. Pretty cheap(1,5 usd / sqm), thin, light and it has barely no hair, just perfectly ok and grip is fantastic for both sides.
Also drifting is amazing on it with DS LF-4 tires.
Model #MK22W180072S on home depots website is the exact carpet that Kyosho used at their US headquarters track when they had a track as well as Dnano table top tracks they distributed to hobbytowns back in the day. I ran at that Khosho track many times before it was taken out. primarily we used Kyosho radial rear 20's and slick 30 fronts. fronts lasted a very long time but when threads on radials would go out it would be time for a new set. towards the end when PN KS series tires were just released we noticed they worked even better than Kyosho radials in the back. No sauce BTW but once in a while wiped the tires down with blue simple green mades sure they were completely dry before throwing car down back on track ( this was recommended by Kyosho president of the time and worked pretty well actually). for maintenance vacuum beginning of the day and expect lower grip right after and good traction after track grooves in ( same as RCP) .
What we found was all set ups worked without much tuning on this carpet, by work i mean no traction rolling or excessive understeer or spin outs, lap times still dependent on how well of a set up which wheel base etc. compared to RCP cars slide more on the turns thus the more forgiving nature at the same time not as pro of a set up as RCP.
