PN racing low down 03 front springs

I recently purchased a set of these:

PN low down springs for my 03, and I have a question. The springs seemed to be too short and did not contact w/ the suspension arm at rest. Is there another part that is supposed to be used in conjunction with this spring? I would like to lower my nose high 03. What is the best way? Someone let me know. Thx

I believe you also need the longer King Pins. Part # MR3036

your upper arms may be a little tight try to loosen them. with those springs the car has some suspension droop

You'll have to add some spacers above the knuckle to take up the slack.

Not sure why PN did it but the low down 03 springs are about half the spring rate per color compared to the standard length 03 springs, checked on my spring tester.

That's a different story all together. I also bought the longer kingpins, however much to my suprise one kingpin is thicker than the other, and did not fit the knuckles properly. So I had to dremel that plastic knuckle.

So to lower my front end, I gotta replace the stock springs, the knuckles, king pin and the spring holder?

Or, you can use the new PN lowering knuckles

You could also use LM tires on classic wheels, which will essentially lower the front end, and give you more wheel clearance to the body...

Thanks for the advise guys. But I just switched back to the springs I was using before. The car worked fine, so Im gonna stick with what I got. High nose and all! Check for the PN springs on the FS thread.

I messed with the low down 03 springs this weekend, they are way to short. I added shims between the knuckle and the arm to make up the gap but it changes the suspesion geometry and makes the front end bind. I just used the regular springs with the lower knuckles to drop the ride height.

You can lower the 03 front in a few different ways.
http://tinyrc.com/forums/blog.php?b=112

Or you can wait for this and use your old MR-02 springs.

Here's the deal with the PN 03 low-down springs: If you don't want to invest in the PN low-down alm. knuckle and the PN alm. adjustable caster upper arm, then the low-down springs are great. I use the low-down springs with the stock plastic K knuckles and stock plastic upper arm. If you buy the PN low-down alm knuckle, then the regular-height springs will be a good match because of the 0.7mm-lowered ride-height; Also if you use the PN alm. upper-arm with the PN low-down knuckles, which will give you approx 1mm-lower ride-height, you do not need the low-down springs.

Low-down springs = Stock plastic F.E. parts
Regular Springs = PN low-down knuckles + PN alm. upper arm.
