this might be good for a Euro-style track surface. It is kinda thin though.

Looks to have potential... similar to what I was going to use when I was going to do my own track system, but RCP beat me to it, so I never bothered

It is VERY thin... it could be rolled up... but might buckle... free samples that cost $3 lol.

You might look at this as well PVC Pond Liner. Very good traction, you can get it in various widths, lengths, and thicknesses. I used a thin 4-5 mil version when I made my first track years ago. It came on a roll but at the time I could only get it in 66 inch width. Now I have found it all the way up to a 48 foot width. Prices can be as little at $0.33 a Square foot.

i would think you would have to glue this to plywood or something like that.

The pond liner comes in various thicknesses (up to like 33mm). The 4mm I used I glued (liquid nails) to Masonite and cut rack sections (think slot car track). It worked pretty well, you could build over passes and could create just about any turn radius you wanted. I used foam pipe insulation for the rails the bigest problem was the joints. I was able to smooth them out pretty well though with some transition sections I made. I looked for pic today but wasn't able to find them.
