hmm. loss of power?

Just finished upgrading some stuff on my awd. Got some new springs, lowdown spacers and a set of tires. Nothing changed on electronics wise. Batteries were always out during maintenance.

So, first test drive around the house went quite well. No problems. At first that is. We have some hardwood, so I went for a little bit of drifting action, turn, hit the gas, and slide. You know. After maybe not even 5 minutes, it didn't even have enough power to slide any more. Weird. Think my motor is dead? I am charging a new set of batteries as we speak, but the set I had just put in was fresh out of the charger. I'll find out in a few minutes. Nothing looked burned, but I will double check everything. Thanks!
Oh, and who do I contact to get my own gallery here?

nvm. it was the batteries. Weird though. gonna start discharging them before a recharge. hopefully that was the only problem. now I gotta get that pinion to stay on.

it only does it when running on carpet or drifting. When on my homemade foam track, (i know i know, saving for rcp everyday!) it doesn't come off. weird. . .

oh boy, here we go. after a good thrashing for about 5 hours last night, (we raced from around 3-12 pm. but not non-stop, we were racing xmods, so there were long breaks to fix those, lol) my car started making a grinding noise and such, and seems like the motor spins up, then the car goes. guess my rear diff is shot.
what I was wondering, would 2 ball diffs work well? 1 front, 1 rear? then I could adjust them infinitely. Hopefully the 3racing universals work well. .
What ball diffs would you guys recommend for less than like 40 bucks apiece? Atomic works good?
Thanks!

on 4wd dual ball diff equipped cars, like my m18, i like to run the front diff VERY tight vs. the rear. i'd guess this would work well for the ma010 too...

DITTO!

Go with two Atomic ball diffs and set them as said and no more broken gear diffs....and the car will handle better too.

Have two in mine and love them.........

The outdrives are built in one with the the ball diff. So they can't be replaced like the stock ones. They are real strong though.

the spur gear and the outdrives are the ONLY plastic parts left in my drivetrain....but are holding up just fine, I have been running them since they first came out with no problems

On topic: I have been having the problem too, however, when I pick up the car and put it back down, it drives fine, but it will randomly die out. The drivetrain is nice and smooth, and the motor is fine.

I am wondering, is this some sort of fail safe to prevent the electronics from getting damaged by heat?

hmmm. mine will that every once in a while. I'll put fresh batts in, and try it, but it won't even turn on. So, I take the cover off and move the batteries around, and it works. . . weird.
