So I got a Mini-Z car recently, and decided to spice it up so I got an Autoscale Calsonic GT-R body for it.
But when I put the new shell on, the car just loses control randomly every once in a while. As soon as I take off the GT-R body, it runs perfectly fine. Is there something wrong I'm doing?
I checked the troubleshooting part of the manual, but the battery's fine (I changed it once) and there's no interference or anything because it works fine without the shell on.
(Also, the rear wheels are not centered on the new body; they are a bit more to the front...have I installed the body wrong?)
EDIT: With a bit more testing, I find that the car only goes out of control when the antenna is moving a lot. My other body (a Gulf McLaren) has a circular hole for the antenna, which I presume allows it to move more or something, while the GT-R has a slot-type antenna hole. Is there a solution to this?
Wow, now's the time I feel kind of dumb. I swear I had it on tight, but I guess I should've checked it either way. It seems to be working fine now, thanks!
Okay, that seemed to have fixed the problem for a while, but now it seems to be back, only this time the antenna doesn't have to be moving before the car starts moving erratically.
Sometimes if I drive the car like beyond 5 feet, it may or may not start glitching.
Try runnin git in another place, preferably an open place. See if you have the same problem. As mentioned befor, the AM Z's have a nasty habit of picking up interferanse from metal objects in the area.
good luck

Well, I replaced the AA batteries in my controller with fresh ones, but the problem seems to be persisting.
EDIT: The car even goes crazy when I pick it up! I don't think the car was acting this was when I first opened it...! I've done some reading around the site and I saw this topic about someone who had changed his rear shock and fried the receiver unit or something in his car. I think I have tried tightening the antenna while the car was switched on; could I have messed something up this way?
I'm sorry for being so...worried, but I mean this isn't exactly a cheap item and I only got it 3 days ago, soo...
Oh yeah, the car I have is the MR-02 i series Gulf McLaren F1. The body I currently have on is the '08 Calsonic GT-R.
Please help!

yeah, you can fry the board if you touch any terminals with a metal screwdriver... i've had this happen with an xmod, and with my Z i made a rule for myself; never work on the car unless all the batts are out. its not always necessary, for instance when swapping tie rods, but its a good habit to get into, and you'll never have to worry about shorting anything out
