I'm pretty sure all of the Flysky radios use the same protocol, so if one works any of their models will work. Unless there is a mod that needs to be done specifically to the 3C? I own a couple of GT3B radios and they have been solid units for the past 3 years now.

What is there to gain from purchasing this or any other radio if the chassis is still inferior to the MR-03 and 03VE?

I am willing to purchase it for the greater good of the hobby but in all honesty I don't see much of a leap forward here.

Now I will argue with myself that in the very near future Kyosho will begin rolling out only FHSS boards(Sports/VE) making our KO radio's obsolete until a new module becomes available. This in turn makes gives us less expensive radio choices with virtually the same adjustments. So with that said by buying this GT3C today it should still be usefull 2-5 years from now when their whole lineup is FHSS...

it's only a matter of time before they push HFS to all the platforms, especially if the sports line is deemed to have been a good sales performer contrary to the i-series which failed miserably due to horrible sales and clearly inferior board.

i am still curious to learn if the perceived/real flaws of the FHS board performance are a result of the kt-19 or the board itself. if the upgrade radio addresses the board performance flaws via programming, then it seems like a no brainer. I just have not seen a preponderance of information either way.

is there an overwhelming opinion one way or the other? it doesn't appear to be as clear cut as it was with the i-series.

They are not FHSS (Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum), they are just FHS (Frequency Hopping Serial).

I don't really know if this even amounts to a small blip in the toilet but from my minimal amount of research I do think there is a difference. I did read out there that FHSS radios will not work with the new Zs, and there are a ton of radios out there that are listed as "FHS" but they are actually "FHSS". Seems like many of the cheaper "knock off" chinese made RC vehicles that came out in the past few years were running FHS systems, I read something about the licensing that made FHS a free ride for anybody but the FHSS was still proprietary for Futaba?

Not sure but after flipping through page after page and hoping what I was reading was correct in it's collected facts and possible assumptions made my head spin after a while.

I learned one clear thing... there are experts out there, and I'm not one of them!

All honesty, I think the boards work just fine and the KT19 has the issues.
