We should probably call an end to the whistler series...it's too cold in the morning now to get up here and race. (2 degrees Celsius this morning)
Newton booked? I'm feeling a lot better so I'll probably be coming down.

It's your call. I'd still be up for it. I think we all own pants and long sleeve shirts. What's the temp like at 9/10am? That's about when we started setting up last couple times.

Derek,
Are you still inquiring about the indoor location in Whistler?
Dave W has booked the room in Newton for the 23rd.
Do we want to do it in the parking lot again with a bit layout if the weather is nice?

We could pull off an outdoor Newton event.
I haven't got any progress on indoor Whistler venue.
I just don't think Whistler is going to work out...for example yesterday it was 12 celcius in the shade for most of the day and the ground is staying cool. Therefore the track would be seriously low on grip...it's unlikely that all these combining factors will get many to take the drive up here.
We can talk further about a Newton outdoor as the weather reports get more consistent as the date gets closer.

We would be MORE than happy to host you here in Newton Cowboy!
I hope you will be able to make it!
I'll send out the newletter this weekend sometime.
Not entirely sure when as i got some heartbreaking news on Thursday.
My shifts have changed for the next 3 months & I am now working on Sundays. =/
My boss has said he will do what he can to cover the 23rd for me.
Any other dates, I may not be able to make for the next while on a Sunday.
But, I can always swap a shift here & there.
I have only been there for just over 3 months now so I'm the low man on the totem & I don't have much vacation time acrued as of yet.
I will still help organize the next few GTG's, I just may not be able to attend them all.
I need a volunteer to step up to take my place at the events I'm unable to attend, if anyone is interested, please PM me.

Only problem with Saturdays is I work a second job on Saturdays.
Typically Sundays were my only day off.
Also, both Dave's also work Saturdays. =/
Sundays seem to work the best for the brunt of the crew.
But, if there is a call for a Saturday GTG, I would be willing to see what I could do to work that out.

When we ran outdoors (Whistler and Surrey) the track was smokin' hot in the sun (like 145F) and traction sucked. As the day progressed and the track was in the shade, traction improved. I'm thinking that a cooler track makes for a better track. Perhaps when the temp gets low enough it starts to get bad again - I dont know.
Perhaps we'll gather more traction data in Newton this Sunday!
As Ryan mentioned, the room is booked.
The weather looks good for the outdoor setup. (we'll take some track temps again).
As always, any additional help to setup is appreciated. The more hands to help, the faster we can start putting down some laps.
Derek, were you/are you planning on bringing any additional track down so we can go bigger?

Sorry Dave but the wife is coming down with me to shop...no extra track. sorry.
It might be best to have an indoor if there isn't the goods to stretch out a track layout.

It's all good - I kinda thought it was going that way!
If the weather continues to co-operate I think we'll still be outside.
Inside we use 3/4 of our track and its close to wall-to-wall. There'll be lotsa time for that when the rain comes.
We can still stretch our legs a bit as this might be our last chance for an outdoor event!

Apparently I didn't send out an official posting for tomorrows GTG in Whistler.
I also figured I'd put it here instead as it's for Whistler.
It's just a link, but here's all the info you need to know!

Sweet, sweet layout. So much room to move, and the weather was perfect - comfortably warm, at least in the shade! Sorry about the dirty track. DaveH's paw prints were cleaned up so I was pretty sure the vacuum was doing its thing properly!
Big thanks to the gracious hosts cowboysir and missus for all the effort in putting on this event.

Super layout - flowed well - Kudos to Cowboy's design!
As always - a great drive - sea to sky never disappoints.
Weather was excellent.
Track surface temps ranged from around 65' in the sun, and 22' in the shade.
This made for some interesting changes in how the cars handled as the sunny and shady parts changed during the day.
There was almost always a nice cooling breeze that kept it comfortable even gusting enough to flip part of the track at one point.
Lots of excellent battles for various placing's in each race!
Everyone was running so fast today - it just seems to work!
Great grub - pizza for lunch and Burgers off the Q with potato salad for dinner
Compliments to both Derek and Sarah for the great meal.
I hope we can coax our hosts to do it again later in the summer.

We will have to see...I might be into a layout for end of August but F1 schedule and weather dependent.
Thanks again to everyone who made it out. Everything went so smoothly it was an effortlessly fun day.
