Very cool. Hows the line? I imagine your dual rate steering is turned waaay down.

Trigger starting also sounds cool. I keep toying with the idea of a rocket booster, while keeping the motor for half throttle cruising, then punching it for a rolling start until the rocket kicks in a split second later.

Great job Fiero Man. Alot of people talk about it (me included), but you did it.

rocket power!

That's what I like to see, a man after my own heart! When I was MUCH younger, I took models of a Ford Thunderbird and Chevy Camaro dragsters and rigged a rocket motors in em. I still have the Ford after many successful launches and trial and error. The Chevy on the other hand felt that it had to go the old fashioned rocket direction, STRAIGHT UP. Not much left upon re-entry! I will try and post pics of the Ford when I can get a digital camera. Sorry, Chevy was trashed long ago. One thing I like about your idea Fiero Man is that you can steer your rocket powered car! Ahh, the good old days!

...and where do you launch it? I would assume that the surface would have to be very smooth, especially at those speeds. Have any problems with aerodynamics (i.e. front lifting from the ground)??

No probs with the front end lifting off the groung. We angled the motor to "push"down and give us some downforce. And the parking lot is very smooth.

Congratulations! I think this is the first Rocket Powered Mini Z ever. You may possibly get the Originator's Award. Congrats. I'm very impressed!!!!

You didn't answer Ken's question about launch distance. I'm curious too!

Thumbs up

Did you time it? I'm sure we are all very curious as to scale
1/4 mile E.T. and top speed.
