hi guys i recently found a old MR-01 mini z in my collection of old cars (actually its new i just never used it lol) and was wondering if it can be upgraded to 2.4ghz i see the MR-015 can ......can i also upgrade the MR-01 ? thanks in advance
I have one too bought in Japan 10 years ago with Mugen NSX GT500 Body. My hobby shop where I started to race from 2 months ago suggest keeping it as collector then tampered with. Biggest issue is front end parts are discontinue so you break it, it is done.
gotcha its actually mint i got it as a gift and maybe used it once i just ordered a mad max body from ebay and wanted to see if i could run a 2.4 ghz radio with it but might as well try and keep it mint thanks
don't really know what it's all about, but it does show that it can be done... personally i'd rather spend the money on a mr015, mr02 or mr03 2.4ghz asf...
oh and in case you do convert your mr01, i would highly suggest aluminum servo gears...
i'm actually contemplating doing this myself. i already have mr-03 race chassis's and this would just be a fun rebuild project on the nostalgic mr-01 chassis. i do miss this chassis and all it's frustrating quirks.
Just make sure to use that metal servo gear I raced the MR01 chassis for a while early on... even after I had a few MR02's. It was still competetive, as long as you protected it well.
