This race has been run for the last 9 years as part of the Wild West Winter Carnival in Riverton, Wyoming. Members of Salt Lake Mini-Z have attended the last 8 years and it’s tons of fun and lots of great people. The race is held inside the casino (in the Ball Room) Kids are welcome to attend and race but are not permitted in the gaming area. There is a stage that is used for the drivers stand and a nice big track is setup. There are lots of great people to talk with and get help from. They have a raffle drawing that you are entered into when you register for the classes, one entry per class.
There is an onsite Hotel with discounted rates for racers ($90 a night). Nothing like racing all day and having your room 5 minutes away when you're done.
This is a great race to attend and we have great support from our Salt Lake Mini-Z Club Members.
Sporting Regulations for this race.

That is so awesome!!!!!!
My son works at a hotel in Annapolis, MD. I am going to see if he can arrange a spot for us to do something like this.
I don't do well flying and it is a little to far for me to drive. If it was closer I would be there for sure.

Last year we had a little drop off as we had the guys from Colorado weren't able to make it. This year we look to be expecting about 40 or so individual drivers and some will race 2 or more classes. typical car count is in the 80+ entries. that's pretty big considering how remote the area is and getting out of state racers has proved to be a challenge. This race is also geared both towards the faster die hard racers (like myself) as well as classes that are setup for kids and beginners.

The Wyoming Mini-Z Club, Colorado Club and Salt Lake Mini-z are still running the core lap counting system. We use flipside timeing and do excel sorting to make it simple. transponders are available for about $2 to purchased as well.
We have at least 10+ that are headed from our club.
I'll be running 6 classes, my son (13yr) 2 classes and my daughter (10yr) 1 class. My wife usually races as well but she won't be attending this year due to medical issues.
We have been for the lat 9 years, it's a lot of fun and great people.

*sigh*
Every year, I hope to have a grand lying around doing nothing this time and the cojones to just buy the ticket.
Wish I could be there! But I am planning to buy a Powerball ticket for that 650 million jackpot so...
A hearty get well soon and best wishes for the wife Brian!

As Fun as this Race is the Logistics of the location do create a problem with drawing racers in. It's an incredible race in a very remote location
I keep working on the hope I get some other Mini-z enthusiasts to come however I do under stand the financial and time constrains of attending out of state races. If I had the funds and time I'd be out to a lot more races all over the country.
