My car, my antenna, and my new camera

Got a new digital camera, so I can finally post some pictures... I'm keeping them small... I've only got dial-up

This is my new antenna setup. makes for nice display since the antenna is removable.

and one last one (for now)

an attempt to make the antenna less obvious.

By the way... is there a way to attach multiple pictures to a post... so I don't have to put them up one by one?... anyhow...

I bot some shiny roll shocks and I realized that they weren't made for the short wheelbase... so, I had to improvise... an old costco card.

... you should have seen the other guy...

Yeah... That "learning to drive" part was harsh. My last RC was a Hornet.... in the early '80s... All I knew how to do was do jumps off the curbs and drive in sandy lots!

a bad suspension and a tendancy to roll over helped my paint job a bit too! Now my car sticks to the ground so much I can't roll it if I tried!

Maybe it's time to put a slick new paint job on my old body!

Hey Crash Rehven, could you tell me how each one of those anteanas compared to the stock ones?

Ok.... My First replacement antenna (not pictured) was identical to the stock one except for the length (and it's a little bit thicker because I use 20 gauge galvanized wire... i think the stock one is 18 gauge wire). The antennae was about a foot and a half long. That one doubled my range... I never fully found out the range because I ran out of parking lot, but My friend and I drove it more than 40 to 50 Yards away! (about half a football field away.)

unfortunately, there was a drawback to the superlong antenna... it caused handling problems because of it's drag and weight. turns became tricky with the tall antenna waving itself around.

The spiral antenna and spoiler antenna (pictures above) have a similar range to the stock antenna... maybe a little less. around 20 yards or so

These antennas were the reason I needed to make the antenna mount...

most of my current antennas are not odd shaped and get slightly better than normal reception. I'll take some pictures and post them tomorrow with more descriptions...
