Exclamation UK Racers!

Seeing as I got zero reply on the 'Club' forums, I'll post an item here!

Has Anyone in the UK area set up a track of any kind?
Are any of the many 1/12; 1/10 and 1/8 scale tracks thinking of creating a Mini-Z class?

If anyone is interesed in co-forming or joining a UK based Mini-Z user group?

If so, please click on my personal info and leave me a message!

Come on guys, we British are looking shoddy with our housebound Mini-Z racers!

Unhappy UK Racers? Obviously NOT!

British based Mini-Z Owners

We look sad! No tracks, no interest, not even one reply to my offering to start a UK based Mini-Z club...

Perhaps it's true that the British are more interested in soccer, beer and crappy soaps on TV

Come on guys....

If it makes you feel any better, I would help out if I lived in the UK!!

That way I could get a REAL car...one without the darn US smog equipment!!

UK racers

Right, up to now I've tracked four UK Mini-Z owners..

Mondo, Phil, Lemanz and Butler

That's four of us and it's enough to get something on the go.
speaking to the UK RC shops that I've contacted for spares and so on, there is a growth in Mini-Z sales. Someone has to throw the first stone.

I am forming a UK Mini-Z club. I could come up with a name, but I'd rather consult with the other UK 'pioneers' before naming it.

Once this ball is rolling, I'll notify all the hobby shops that deal in Mini-Z's, so they can notify existing and new Mini-Z owners.
Perhaps racing our Mini-Z's could be a reality. If they can get it right everywhere else in the world, why should England be an exception???

Guys, some of you have my email addy, those who don't, please mail me via the Mini-ZRacer.com forums.

Your support is needed

Hi Mondo,

I am interested in the club, but unsure whether I will be able to support race nites. I will certainly use it for spares and hop-ups.

What else would be involved? Then I can let you know how I can help or support it.

Cheers,

Marc

Talking There's life out there...

Right guys, this could well work...

Please leave me a message via the Mini-ZRacer.com forums.
Click on my handle/nick: Mondo and leave me your e-mail addresses.

Once I've got your email addresses, I'll send a mial just outlining my ideas.
Racenights would probably be weekend racedays at some decently surfaced parking lot.

Personaly, I would be prepared to travel to race and I feel that others would too.

other ideas I am working on are:

Naming the UK based club and possible affiliation with Mini-ZRacer.com. A logo would also have to be designed.
Should enough interest be generated, I'd be prepared to put up a website at a later stage.

Forming class categories, like Stock, Pro-Stock, Modified and Super Modified. A drag racing class could also be included.

Finding RC tracks and clubs that can facilitate Mini-Z's and would co-operate in allowing us to use their facilities.

Arranging the use of shopping mall car parks for race meetings.

Selection of the best UK based hobby stores to deal with in the UK and possibly arranging 'club discounts' on spares and hop-ups

Notifying the better UK based hobby stores about the club so they can notify existing and new Mini-Z owners, thus resulting in the gradual growth of the club

Newsletters and correspondence with other international Mini-Z clubs.

The bottom line is, it's got to start somewhere and sometime. Here and now is a great start!

As for the logistics of the club, I will take care of that, unless it snowballs into something bigger, then I'd need other club members' assistance.

So, who's keen to be founding members?

Message me guys!!!!

Mondo, would it make sense to have your club be the UK branch of Mini-ZRacing.com? I think it would both help MZRing as we share ideas, race rules, etc., and help your club as you'd have our resources behind you.

Mini-Z UK

bobman and dandrofitz,

Mini-Z and I have agreed in principle that Mini-Z UK will be representing Mini-ZRacing International in Britain.
We are still awaiting David's decision on a logo.

At this time, we are reviewing rules and the various racing classes. Once these rules or guidelines are adopted by Mini-Z Racing International, we can get MZRI sanctioned events rolling here in the UK.

I have also notified the better UK hobby stores as well as the UK TopCAD, Eagle, GPM and Kyosho distributor about the formation of MZUK.

For any enquiries regarding Mini-Z UK, please feel free to mail me at:

Mini-ZUK@blueyonder.co.uk

This can become a reality, let's make it happen

At this moment, I'd be willing to attend any Mini-Z race in England and I am prepared to travel to partake. Just mail me at the address above guys

The French are big into Mini-Z racing too, so I reckon a summer trip over (or under) the Channel could also be an option for those interested.
