Just wanted to let everyone know that we will be having a birthday party on the day of the Reindeer Rumble from 12-2pm. Track will open at 10am still. If anyone comes early, you can just leave your stuff at the track and grab some lunch while the party is going on.
The ILR family would like to thank everyone for their support this past year. We know how important your time is and appreciate you spending your time with us.
The Reindeer Rumble was a big success. We had nearly 40 racers show up to rumble, with the biggest class being the sportsman class. Big thanks to all that helped behind the scenes. Big thanks also goes to Ray for helping me call some of the races. We were swamped all day Saturday and all the help really helped us out.
In our novice class it went down to the last race of the year to decide who our novice champion would be this year. Elliot needed to TQ and win the main to take the overall points championship. After three rounds of qualifying Elliot secured the TQ spot. All that was left now was to win the main. The first few minutes of the main, Elliot and Kyle were very close and it could go either way. Kyle was running the race with two quarters taped to the roof of his car and did a very good job driving considering the weight penalty. During the halfway mark, Elliot started to pull away and did not look back. Elliot will be our newest sportsman driver.
In our sportsman class, Yi-Woei just needed to finish ahead of Ezra and David J to take the overall points win. Yi-Woei secured the TQ spot and would start on the pole for the main. We had a clean hole shot and everyone got out clean. Yi-Woei pulled away from the pack early and almost had the race put away until his body came off. After it was the body was tapped by on, he was gone again. The rest of the field was very close. We had 2nd to 6th running a train for nearly 5 minutes. A huge pile up with 30 seconds to go changed up the field order but it was a great race.
In our expert class, Romel took the TQ honors and would start from the pole. Early on it was a close race throughout the field but at the halfway mark, Romel, Brandon and Stephen started to pull away. The top three would swap the lead a few times but in the end Brandon was just a little bit more consistent and took the victory.
We would like to thank everyone again for their support this past year. Like I said before, without you guys, it would just be me racing Steven. Have a great Christmas and we will see you at the track new year.
Pictures and official results will be posted soon.
