Muchmore Bearing Removal Tool

I have been unhappy with the way I have to get the bearings out of the wheels of the mini-z as I felt I could blow out a bearing with the pressure I have to put on the side of the bearing to get it out. Then I took an old micro screwdriver and cut off the very end and put a hook in it so I could get the bearing out using this tool but it isn't perfect so I spent some time on line and found a tool from Muchmore in England, not in us that is exactly what I want to remove the bearing. It is a driver and the end has a place on it that expands with the turn of the handle and catches and supports the full inner race with a lip at both ends so that it is able to put preassure, albeit supported all around the bearing, to get the bearing out. I can't find out how much they are after about 3 months of trying so if anybody can help with costs and cost to ship to us I would make the dicision. It is a really nice tool for serious work. Any info you could share would be appreciated.

I've noticed that aluminum wheels don't jam the bearing in that hard, so thats another alternative to this problem.

Search is over and finally got what I wanted from UK. About $55 shipped for the two tools. I will report on how they perform.

Looking forward to your report. I would like a solution to this problem, but $55 seems a little high.

I can get hold of these no probs, the only thing is going to be the postage to outside the UK, as they do look kinda heavy for what they are.

It was $55 for both the 2mm and 3mm sizes and that included shipping. It is not putting the bearings in but taking the wheel bearings out that is my issue and while it is pretty steep for two tools, it seems a better way to get your bearings out of the wheels than a small hook I mad out of an old micro screwdriver shaft. So I agree it is steep priced but ceramics are so expensive that if I blew out a couple it would have paid for some of the tool. Anyway it looks like the right idea, but I will see.

I got the tools, very impressive machining and they work as they are described. No more poking at the races with a micro-screwdriver maybe bending a seal. So for installation nothing big here as it is not getting the bearings in that is the issue, at least for me. Getting those buggers out of the wheels now that is the issue and this tool does so quite nicely. It is a little steep for a tool, but when you weigh the costs of the tool vs blowing out a ceramic bearing, the costs seems to be less difficult to bear. So I would buy these again and if I ever need other sizes would not hesitate to get the larger units. For us Mini-Z guys you want the 2 and 3 mm tools at this point.

proper bearing installation and removal technically is not from the inner race....you can still damage your bearings. the strongest part of the bearing is the outer race.
You are exactly right about poking and probing and possibly damaging the seals. A damaged seal rubs the bearings and slows them down.... The atomic tool looks good. I personally use a hudy hex driver. The shaft is stepped and it locks onto the inner race....great for removing and when im inserting i use the hudy nut driver....it puts pressure on the outer race...

these bearings are small and for the most part go in and out fairly easy w minimal damaging forces....I have broken a few bearings on tight wheels.....
which were chrome plated....the plating made the fit that tight....

Thanks for the insight Bermbuster, it is appreciated. Now that I have the bearing thing under control to my liking, I'll have to find something else to obsess about.

Muchmoreracing.com is the place. The US distributor is not stocking the part as of the time I was buying. Stay on them it took lots of emails that went unanswered to get them to get me the parts. Long wait but I like them. They work as good as I could find anything with less potential harm than anything else I find on the market at the present. Good Luck
