"Crashed" RX7

Hi, I am starting a new project. I call it the "Crashed Rx7"

Here is a little backround:

I was originally modifying the front bumper of the Rx7, and ran into some difficulties when trying to extend the front grill down. So, I ended up cutting off the whole front bumper.

I plan to make it look like a crashed drifter. I will be fabricating an intercooler out of styrene and some disc drive ribbon cable. (Thanks cheez)

The color is Tamiya Light-Gunmetal.

Here are some pictures of the 2nd coat of paint (Spoiler holes have been filled.):

Here are some pictures of the early stages of the graphics (Don't mind the razor blade marks .)

Here is what I plan for the exhaust to look like: (Thanks to Benc1 for helping me get the right effect.)

Thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated.

cool concept. When life gives you lemons .

Would've been cool if you could try making it look like the bumper was grafted back on using zip-ties with the drifter style x-pattern.

That is a good idea Fish.

I can't do it though, becuase the front bumper was cut in half. (Long story )

By the way, If anyone can find a picture of the front frame work of an Rx7 without the front bumper would be greatly appreciated.

There ya go. Just that the motor you see is not so stock.

You could also do a v-mount rad/intercooler placement. I don't have any pics handy on an RX-7, but here's a diagram. Just in case you decide to do the 'upgrade'.

If you ever wanted to have the front end back and stay with the tuner theme you could graft a model kit bumper on from Revell's street tuner line.

what a great idea. way to polish a turd!!
I've always wanted to do a 'beater-tuner'.
like those tri-color primer crx's you see with a poorly attached front airdam kit, a rear side window with clear plastic duct-taped over it and a 'for sale' sign in the window.
