HFAY Season 27

1-28-19 UPDATE: Just bringing the tracks to the top, with other links.
Tracks: January: track 5 February: 8 March: 10 April: 17 May: track 12
Track Images: http://www.howfastareyou.com/seasons/index/2
Rules: click on "manual" at this site http://www.howfastareyou.com/seasons/index/49
Track side? Rough or smooth sided track. Pick one, run it. Final determination coming.
Cost: No cost this season. Just connect with Ty on the PDX Mini Z fb page and let him know. Send times via the fb page.
Timing system: Any that allows for the info we need. see rules on how to send it. Lots of options, or try the one at the pdxminiz.com site.

12-23-18 Hey Guys, Well another season is down and another one begins. Last season, our local points came down to a one lap difference between first and second, and the overall winner was decided in the last race. It was a great finale and what makes racing the HFAY series so fun.

Brian and I have talked and we here at PDX Mini Z will be managing this next HFAY season once again.

We are looking forward to everyone who can join us. I've heard some rumblings from clubs in Florida, Texas, and a Malibu CA club possibly, and maybe some of the old regulars, Washington DC GTG and Burncity MiniZ?

Time to decide on tracks. Please provide some input on what you would like to race by next Friday, Dec 28th. I will post the season tracks soon after so you have time to plan.

Choose 5 tracks. I went through the past few years and tracks 2, 6, 12, 13, 16, 18 have been used a number of times. Those are either favorites, or what fit best in the space available. I'm thinking of mixing it up a bit but let me know if there are space issues. For example, track 17 is a 12x9 tiled track size. If 12x9 doesn't fit, that will limit our tracks. It still uses the same track, it's just a larger design. There might be one that is 12x10.

My choice for this season is #5, 8, 10, 17, and an old favorite 12. In that order.

To view the tracks, go to www.howfastareyou.com and click on the Time Trials menu on the left, for a full viewing of the tracks.

I will take the top 5 chosen.

The standard HFAY rules will be used. View them at the above website, scroll over "Racer Series" then click on Season 23, then click on "Manual".

Times will be sent to us monthly and will be posted on our club site, www.pdxminiz.com . Click the HFAY tab at the top.

Looking forward to another great season.

Ty

YES! Count Central Florida Mini-Z Racers in!

This will be our first season for HFAY.

A few of us are testing at the track today, so I will gather layout preferences and lost them tonight.

Sadly, Washignton DC still doesn’t have space to accommodate HFAY tracks. I’m still holding out hope that we will at some point and look forward to getting back into HFAY. Can’t thank you guys enough for keeping it going.

Central Florida Mini-Z Racers ran the January track clockwise tonight. We'll have our results submitted in the next couple days.

We run counter clockwise in 2 weeks.

We ran both directions on Monday. Fastest guys were close to 90, I think I was mid-70s both directions.

Awesome guys, great to hear Central Florida and Tri Cities Washington getting their HFAY going for the year. We here at PDX Mini Z also did our HFAY for Race 1 and 2 (Track 5, Clockwise then Counterclockwise) on Monday.

You can send me your times any time you want. Don't post your exact times here for public view, it gives others an unfair advantage. It's just our nature to want to beat a time we see. I will collect times and we will post them in the finishing order early the following month.

we can't fit the tracks that were selected this season in our space. It's good that you guys chose these tracks to mix it up. the reason we re-used the other tracks so often is because several of the clubs were space limited.

Looking forward to see your guys compete with some newer clubs

Under Season 23 rules I saw in addition to Kyosho Iwaver, Xmods and PN & Atomic plastic Pan bodies are allowed and I understand there has been no written revisions since so wanted to find out if TRP and Jomurema Bodies are also acceptable to run now?

It would make it interesting to see bodies used by each racer in the results table as well... just to see whats trending, performance wise etc.

My unscientific report of the top of our leaderboard includes or has included:

• GL Racing Audi R8
• Autoscale R8
• Nissan R390
• Ferrari 458
• McLaren Longtail
• Lexus 430

as long as they are the hard plastic bodies I see no reason to exclude them.

Our top guys are running 102mm cars with primarily Sauber bodies.

I keep trying to make my Porsche 962 work, but so far the Sauber is just faster.

Sounds good, was thinking the same thing but just wanted to confirm.

So far at this club F458, F430 & F599 are scheduled to be making the run for January but now a Jomu GT01 may make the grid too Will report back on body rank after the races.

Thanks for posting body rank info for other clubs!
