Hi, My club will be borrowing a CORE timing system for our 1st event, next Sat, May 27th. I am in the middle of building some rules and reg documents for the club for our races. Questions I had for the software were the following:
1. We expect to run 3 qualifiers. How does CORE compile the mains? Does it go on the best qualifier? or some other option?
2. Does CORE support free timed practice sessions? i.e. not races that have structure of qualifying heats, then mains etc...
We run it on practice until we are ready for the qualifying rounds. Once you change that setting in the "Manage" section, you have to create a new event, add the drivers into the event, and hit sort. It will then randomly populate the heats according to how many racers and heats you have specified in the manage section. Once all the heats are done, I think you just have to setup the Main, once you do that, I think you just hit sort, and it populates the Mains as per the rank data.
Gasman is the one who sets this up for us... so I'm not absolutely sure, but I've seen him do it enough to get an idea.

If you have time try to poke around with the software a little bit. It's pretty cool and can do a lot of stuff but it's not always intuitive (sp?). In the worst case scenario, you can manually add and remove racers from the different mains to do your own sorting.
it will take the persons best qualifier from as many as you run and sort by the raking throughout all the qualifiers. It sorts the Mains based on the best qualifying performance. could be the first or the fifth heat.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to the you other guys for your comments as well.
