Impressed with MR-01

I got my MR-01 about 10 days ago. I finally got to race all my Xmods buddies for the first time today. I took 1st place in two classes and 2nd and 3rd in the other two classes All with a "stock" car. We run Stock, Modified, AWD and AWD Modified. The only thing I changed was the pinion gear, I moved from a 6 to a 9 tooth.
One fo the race marshalls was looking in the rules to see if I was breaking any and another member called me a traitor. I can't wait untill my hop-ups come, any day now. An MR-02 is next. Then I'll further sharpen my driving skills. hehe I wonder how long I'll remain club president. ROFL

Arch2b- I wish I had the cr5, I'm running the Reebok Skyline body. That ribbing I got was sort of good natured, I guess I had it comeing for running the same car in all 4 classes, it was kinda like rubbing their noses in it. haha

nivlacs3z- MiniZs are what I'm going to buy and race from here on out!!! All my Gen 1s are going to be sold, My EVOs I'll keep for a while, but MiniZs are it from this day forward. And I'm interested in those parts. An email is on the way.

Hey, if the rest of your buddies don't get a minni-z soon, you'll never lose a race. However you might want to be careful running that Skyline body the 1st servo gear tends to break when you collide with another object while turning. If you like your MR-01 your gonna love it when you get an MR-02. Anyway, congats on buying your 1st mini-z. You won't have to put any money into it as long as you're racing xmods. Your buddies are probably on the bay now trying to get one.

If breaking servo gears becomes a big problem, maybe running a wider body (like the C5R) with narrow offset front wheels (like on your skyline now) would help protect them a bit?

I would love to get a C5r, but they are hard to find. I was looking at a chart and there are 3 other bodies that may work, the Ferrari 360 Modena, Ferrari F40 and the Ferrari 512BB. hese are for the MR-01 and MR-15 chassis. What do you guys think. But before I go and buy another body, is this servo gear breaking thing really bad or is it a problem that sometimes happens?

so long as you don't play derby rules you should be ok. bodies like the 360 modena and cr5 offer plenty of front wheel protection as they are among the widest mr-01 bodies. both were among the most popular racing bodies as well, including the acrua nsx
