When I was in college I got hooked on a flight sim called F/A-18 by Graph Sim. When you over shoot the carrier landing (which I usually did). the LSO comes on the radio and screams "bolter bolter!!" which means you have about one second to go full power and pull up, or you ditch into the ocean.

A year after college, I was flying a Cessna 152 with a friend of mine (superpeltor- used to be a member here), and we crashed into the side of the a mountain (he was the pilot, not me).

So, "bolter" seemed pretty appropriate for my aviation experience (virtual and real). the "9" was what yahoo added to it when I signed up for chat way back when.

So I came up with a different set of letters to use for the high score mark, to keep them guessing. My little code was SLG, that stood for sledge for short. For a long time everyone wondered who SLG was on that Asteriods game, there was the day that they found out who SLG was. Nowdays SLG mellowed out and is just a Hammer.

yeah it's a source of grief for me. We're a health care publishing company, so we shoot a lot of stock photos- I had agreed to do a couple of general office type shoots a while back, and the marketing department decided to use my pic for the web site, and a bunch of other stuff-influding a full size trade-show booth background.

I'm the kind of guy who prefers to fly under the radar, so it was a hell of a lot more then I bargained for.

rlc77- sorry to ruin it for ya...if it's any consolation, I do a killer impression of the guy in my avatar!
