Best brushless motor

Just wanted to see since brushless mini z's have been around for a while what would be the best brushless motor out there so far. I haven't got to try but one motor so far which is the scorpion 6000kv which I like with the exception that the end bell keeps popping out during racing. Have the x speed motor but never tried it due to not HFAY legal and not drilled can. So what motor would y'all recommend?

The only one I have ran is the PN 5500kv motor V2. It's plenty fast and has been trouble free for me.

Just thought I'd revisit this. I recently got a good deal on a new brushless board. I run HFAY on 2 wide Ls and am very satisfied with the pn 70T, but I like messing around and trying new things, so I'm going to build a brushless car. I have read that some think the PN 3500 is the way to go for brushless on the small track, but they are out of stock. I'm leaning towards trying the pn 5500 as recommended above. Any new thoughts or different brands? The can needs to be drilled for my motor mount, but other than that I am open to suggestions.

I've always ran the atomic 5000kv and it's been pretty good. I recently purchased a PN 5500kv and it's pretty good as well.

I have a 3500kv and I'm not happy with it. Good torque but terrible top end.

Kris, I think that is the nature of the 3500kv motors. Low top end with good bottom end torque. I have similar power curves on both the PN and Atomic 3500kv motors. Which makes them good for stock classes, or 2S operation. To get the most out of them, they need to be geared up on AAA. Which is why regulations typically limit the gearing to keep them similar to a 70t brushed motor (1t pinion more on 3500 than 70t). The 70t has more top end, and is more linear in power across the range.

I enjoyed driving the 3500, but find that I like to use a lot of punch and/or positive curve with it to have the throttle feel the way that I want it to.

I have yet to try the Kyosho 5600kv or Atomic 5000kv motors (tried the ATM 5000 on the AMZ many years ago, but the RX was so bad that it wasnt really a test). I think that they would be the most balanced speed and low end torque.

Exactly right and if we're talking KO Tx don't forget to turn up throttle feel all the way up to 50 as well...this is on NiMh 51/12~13 gearing.
If you want more top end try the 12.5 rotor...I tried the above settings on a race day in a 94mm with 13.5 rotor and it edged out a very fast driver with 70T and a fully blown moded 98mm car.

Our SS class runs 3500kv with 2s2p AAA lithiums...I have never enjoyed any other class be it slower or faster than this power configuration. I use 13.5 rotor with 53/12 gearing on a medium sized track. The class does allow 5500 Nimh and they are dead even...both power plants open gearing.
