i have both and do enjoy my F1 better HOWEVER i am bias as i am a major F1 fanatical.

as for handling, i've found my F1 does handle better than my sedan even with hop ups but that's just me. i contribute this to the F1 having a lower center of gravity and a longer wheelbase to start with.

my sedan it seems is a little more touchy (especially in stock form) than my F1 however i can take turns faster and tighter with the sedan and definately don't have to worry as much with damaging the suspension.

still, i prefer my F1. but again, that's just me.

well what about on lets say a high grip surface. like a super low pile rug with no bumps and stuff. nice flowing turns, no sharp stuff. which would be more fun.

depends how you define fun. to me it's the ability to pass or keep up with my opponents with minimal trips to the pit'

regardless of track surface, regardless of vehicle, regardless of track set up.

currently we run on the underside of a felt type carpet so it offers very high grip. a friend and i both have F1s and sedans and we race each other using the F1s and then the sedans. both run very well on this surface with no sliding whatsoever. It's like riding on rails for both of them but more so with the F1.
again, due to longer wheel base and lower center of gravity.

typically my buddy woops me with the sedan because i'm still trying to find the right set up. i have a habit of hitting the walls quite often struggling with the sensitivity and he usually can take a corner fairly fast and tight which is an advantage of the sedans in general.

With the F1 i've been wooping on him lately so it makes up for my losses with the sedan. i think it might be because i have the A-BB and a toe in steering plate of which he has neither.

keep in mind regardless of track surface, car set up or whether a sedan or F1 is used, it's all about having what it takes to be competitive. throw in some trash talking and w-lah! Let the fun begin....

Mini-Z tintop vs F1

I have both.
One very modified Mini-Z car, one modified car without a Turbo
I also own two Mini-Z F1's, both have bearings, spring set, ball-diffs, Square alloy wheels and 20 degree Kyosho slicks.

On handling and looks, the F1 rules.
The F1 also has the added feature of a brake, yes, brakes!
The F1's really enjoy smooth surfaces due to their low ride height.
I agree with West.F1 nothing beats open wheel racing!
The F1's are stunning little cars and I will buy another one, as I have a Jordan and McLaren, so I need a Ferrari.

The cars are more robust, can be driven on most uneven surfaces and take collisions nicely.
They are great for hopping up and I like my 'Z tintops as much as I do my F1's

I say: Buy one (or more) of each

F1 is the choice of the speed freak!!!!!!!! If you want to go fast and make the thing handle then get the f1........if you want just to tinker and play then the regular car has more hopup parts!!!

Disagree

I would have to disagree that the F1 handles better. It may be more stable in the corners, but the sedan mini-z when properly cared for (lubed) will out manuever an F1. I have both or had both until I blew the ESC in sedan and had to use the F1 to compensate for it. Now I have a Sedan with Brakes!!!!!

i disagree with the disagreement. or are we talking stock or hopped up?

In stock form F1s ride like they're on rails more than the sedans

fully hopped up and the sedan handles great.

Stock

Actually, I believe in stock trim the miniZ with dual rate taken out handles better than the F1. It is much more agressive and it may also depend on the surface you are running on. But on our surface at the local shop which is painted asphalt of some kind, the mini Z sedan is the better car. Two F1's right out of the box and hopped up would spin going left easily.
