Are these necessary or simply flashy bits?

I think these are more flashy bits than necessary. I really have to push hard to introduce flex between the battery section and the front bulkhead. I'd like to see an optional tie rod set with different toe settings. I never liked how the FWD came with toe out on the front. Seems to make the car more twitchy and harder to keep on a straight line, at least for me.

Have you tried these?

Edit: nevermind.. only the rear works with the FWD

Yeah, the AWD tie rods are shaped differently and won't fit the FWD. I figure it's just a matter of time before a set is released.

I found these on Shapeways. I have no idea if they are different widths. I messaged the creator and asked but no response yet.

Someone on FB bought a set and they are different widths. Unfortunately, they're made out of that grainy 3D printed plastic so they don't work very well.

Any 3d printed part used in RC application will need some finishing to smooth part interface areas. A bit of effort and I'm sure these parts will perform to your liking.

I bought a set of these to try myself. While they are well printed and are a direct drop-in fit, the plastic is softer than stock and results in a more flexible tie rod. I tried all three settings and found the car to handle worse. I think the flexible plastic is causing the steering to become erratic to the point I couldn't keep a straight line even with a gyro unit at max gain. A good attempt, but maybe if the plastic was more rigid.
