Fixed the images. Kyosho's website update broke all the links.

MINI-Z RWD Audi R8 LMS 2015 "Red"Readyset
Part No. 32323R
Impressions:
Always nice to see a re-issue of an LM car in particular as there are so few to choose from to begin with. While guys love the C9, the livery can be a challenge for some on the track due to dark color scheme. Great car. Keep restocking unpainted body though please.
I'm on the fence about the 2015 R8 as it's simply a debadged/livery race car in a plain red color. As always, painted nicely but just rather well, boring, even for those like myself that are partial to the R8. I myself prefer the GL version of the 2015 model with wider offset but can't help ogling over another R8. I mean why not, they don't have any livery license to pay for this one and why not make as much use of a mold as you can. Were not getting Ferrari back so can't be to picky these days.

I know the livery on that R8 is pretty spare but I gotta say, looks pretty nice in red.
Arch2B, kinda random question but is TINYRC.com still in business, like do they still sell stuff? Hard to tell, might be interested in a few things they have listed.

I have ordered and received items from the store about 4 months ago. I believe the in-stock/out-of-stock is still accurate.

One nice thing about a car like this is that someone that wanted an original body but didn't want to paint their own could get a great looking original race car with only some decals. The Sony Playstation livery I mistakenly put on a black paint job awhile back would look really sharp on this red R8, and be much more visible le on the track.

Has Kyosho issued a new, full race liveried Autoscale in recent years? I’m new to tho hobby, but it seems that all of the liveried cars that have been offered new in the past few years are re-issues (Mazda 787B, the Kouros C9, the Bilstein NBR R8, Harrods’s F1). The new bodies - P1, C7, R8 2015, AMG GT3, Camaro - have all been issued in plain colors or generic liveries (like the R8 2015s and the AMG’s presentation livery). For example, it would be awesome for the C7 ZR1 to be converted into a C7.R in a LeMans race livery.
Perhaps this is the new normal for Kyosho to save costs? That would be disappointing, what got me into the hobby were all the great/significant racing cars & liveries.
I have no idea how model makers (not just Kyosho) license a full race livery with all the sponsors. I can’t imagine they have to get a deal with every company, perhaps there is some sort of clearinghouse for licensing?
I do hope that Kyosho continues to produce new cars with new liveries. (There is only so much I’m willing to pay for new old stock ASCs on eBay...)

Maybe the 2008 WRC Subaru Impreza but that looks generic enough that they maybe avoided all the sponsor licensing, etc. Otherwise, no. Of the 55 most recent Autoscale releases, NONE are new licensed racing livery. The closes we come to that are the McLaren P1 and Audi R8 2015 bodies. All others are re-releases. God knows kyosho has long since gotten their money back on the R34 mold... I would honestly be happy with 'race' versions of bodies even if with generic livery.
I do think there is a limit to what we will all pay for rehash bodies and I think we hit that limit years ago and it's moving into realm that is unsustainable for Kyosho. Thrilled that we have others like Jomurema, GL, Iwaver, HRC, Technicalrp that are making similar quality products at reasonable prices. It proves it can be done. If the customizing kit bah parts were more affordable, I think it would fill more of the gap.
Before I drag this further off topic, short answer is No. No 'new' full livery race cars. I would sacrifice that for continued growth in offerings however. I have no qualms painting my own anyway.

Especially since the typical MSRP for Autoscales has basically doubled in the last 10 years. Seems like $50 is the new baseline.

Thanks for the info! I agree that it is good news that the company is investing in the Mini-Z platform (e.g., this year's new Camaro and AMG GT bodies, and the launch of the 4x4 Crawlers).
In an ideal world, Kyosho would also issue bodies with newer race liveries, but perhaps I will follow arch2b's example and try my hand at painting a white body!

Assuming the reissue calsonic and co. are going to be a fine polish. Majority of them were... I believe a few were actually glosscoat before they switched over? It has been a while.
Just had a kyosho mx01 vid on my youtube feed.
Looks like the shocks, drives, and front knuckles are releasing in addition to the jeep...
If you buy all their option parts you basically paid for another mx01 lol. Devious Kyosho, devious.
Though, you could get away with a heavy grease for the stock shocks and source some steel 4.5 balls. The kyosho brass caps for the rear wheels are hilariously big, (fills up the entire wheelwell) but they do balance it out and keep it from tumbling forward on descents. They did have a little shaving and crap on them, but not as much as xspeed stuff. when used with a set of weighted wheels it allows for some crazy climb angles.
The steel drives seem like a must though if you plan on running kyosho weighted stuff. I am surprised xspeed hasn't come out with some yet.

Based on the part number, this is a ReadySet, yes? Any indication as to whether an autoscale body will also be released?

They usually do re-release the Autoscale when the Readyset is done.
