Mondo,
I think it would be great to start a UK mini-z club, but i think you should also cater for the hpi micro series of cars also, to significanty increase your member base. You could also do with some publicity, so get in contact with Racer, and Radio race car, and tell them what you plan on doing.
Me and my brother run a club for 1/10 TCs and 1/12 circuit (check out www.rcracenews.co.uk/opmcc for more info) and may start racing mini-zs in the near future. We have quite a few members who have bought them but for some reason we have never all got together to race.
We also have a perment mini-z track in our house which is about 15ft X 10ft but still requires a little improvement. Eventually, when we get the rest of the room cleared out, the track will double in size and we will run on carpet (the current track is painted concrete, and really low grip).
there's already a Mini-Z club in the UK. Theres about 20 - 30 of us in total and we race in st olaves village hall near great yarmouth (east anglia). Our club started cause we needed something to do in bad weather instead of 1/8th nitro. We race every friday 6:00pm - 11:30pm(ish). Also our trak is carpet and hosepipe and changes every week (a first that i know of) so If anyones interested in coming to visit / joining email me @ ridley.family@ntlworld.com.
I'm a UK (warminster in Wiltshire) Mini-Z Monster owner so keep this thread up to date with whats happening about the club!,
My 2 year old son has just managed to blow the fet's whilst running my monster so i am soldering in a 4x2 stack of 4562's and putting an S03 motor in along with a 5 cell mod just to make things more interesting!!
LOL! Talk about resurecting an old Thread.
No, due to lack of interest, I gave up on the UK Mini-Z club. I focussed my attention on Micro RS4's which have a much larger following at club level.
I still love and own many Mini-Z's though and if anyone else is prepared to invest the energy in a UK Mini-Z club that's close to where I live, I would be more than a little interested.
