You can make the Autoscale side mounts out of flat carbon fiber, just cut two pieces that slot together and you can form the required shape.
It's not completely perfect (still have to trim the body clips on the Autoscale) but it's cheap and easy. IMO, fitting Autoscale bodies should be a priority for a chassis that uses so many Mini-Z parts.

There is the answer ivanmartin 18. Also, I could not agree more with color01 "IMO, fitting Autoscale bodies should be a priority for a chassis that uses so many Mini-Z parts". Good luck with it.
Its nice of you to share your design with the competition color01. I have also been keeping up with your design nice work keep up the good work.

Hi!
Thanks for the idea, i've already seen it in your topic, it's a nice idea but it doesn't fit in my chassis, there are other mechanical and structural pieces that are in the same place and i should change too many pieces that now has an optimal position and works great. If i want to copy the AutoScale holding system i have to change to many other things that can affects in a negative way to the functional, simple, and clean design of this chassis.
The priority is to use high grade "mechanical" mini-z parts to have a more resistant, light and fast 1/27 racer and not to look nice in the shelve. Of course you can fit Auto Scale bodies, you just have to hold it in a different way
I test a little bit the car the last thursday and all i can say is that the suspension and the steering is much more precise than a full optional 02, it handles great. I can't wait for the next thursday with a new motor, the one i tested was too slow...
Ah! The final weight with everything is 174.8gr (chassis + body + wheels + batteries + reveiver + esc + servo) Not bad, eh?
Bye!

Hi ivanmartin
I don't believe color01 was expecting the exact duplicate of his system, but has a starting point for you to come up with your own design. Because your chassis is different. Looking at your picture of your design, if the top battery holder is very secure. You could easily cut a vertical slot on the battery holder and make a similar small piece from color01's picture of his autoscale chassis body clip and you would have the ability for autoscale and lexan pan cars if you wanted. people may have to reposition the body clips but most already do that.
Please don't take offense to my continuous asking about making your chassis autoscale compatible, it is more of a reaction to how much I like your design and I think if your were able to incorporate this, more people would gravitate toward it because its so versatile.
174.8gr that is awsome.
Keep up the good work

Bon giorno ivanmartin.
Please keep us posted with the outcome of your frequent tests to your chassis, if you can post a video of your next test on Thursday, which would be Fantastico, so we can appreciate visually your chassis perform.
Regarding auto-scale chassis body clip, I think same as you “light and fast 1/27 racer and not to look nice in the shelve” That’s exactly what I am desperate seeking for on this 1/27 scale, a real racer chassis conceptualized for high end performance, definitely not a toy as mini-z’s. I guess that some guys think same as us, but the reality is, that most persons that enter this category, they are first motivated by the passion for cars, accessible price, definitely for the “looks” and variety of bodies Kyosho offers, lets not leave behind the fact that this 1/27 Mini-zs cars can be run in practically any area of your home plus they are FUN. So if you are considering your chassis for an “exclusive” segment of the market, that is interested in a real performance 1/27 racer chassis, don’t worry about the auto-scale chassis body clips. But if your target is to sell and make a business of it, you have to consider; price and looks, so the idea of designing and offering a set of auto-scale chassis body clips as an option, could be a good asset as a gimmick to sell more. Just a healthy contemplation.
Ciao
Cheers

I am one for performance first. I would like the use of the front body clip over the post mounts, the rear... I wouldnt mind using posts. Without the front body clip, you would have to include a front foam bumber to prevent the body from hitting the wheels on impact. Which, would weigh more than the front clip. Also, the Kyosho bodies are not that durable, so a hole going through them with a post, is sure to crack much sooner than with the clip system used by Kyosho. They crack enough as is...
Whichever mounting method, I would still like to get one to try.

I don't take offense at all! I'm glad that you participate in this thread and give ideas to make a better chassis.
The point is that phisically there is not space to install-design-put any kind of system to hold the Autoscale side clips. It's just impossible with this chassis design, i should design again all the rear part and for the moment i prefer to go in the direction i said before: simplicity and functionality.
For the front end you can use body post or CF front clips.

I may be just paranoid, but the text on that blog entry reads dangerously similar to one of my writeups on the MRCG. Did you use my writeup as a template or something?
Aside from that your car still looks very nice and I'm hoping to see updated pics of it.

Absolutely not, I've just reorganized the text that you find in the first message of this topic, written on April 20th 2008. I add something new to the text, that's for sure, but always characteristics of the MP-V4.

Finally i've tested yesterday for the very first time.
It was better than expected but there are some improvements to do.
The steering is very very precise but i had a little bit of oversteering under aceleration, maybe i should move more weight to the rear part and i have to check how the suspension disc is working.
Ciao!
