For those installing the Evo board on a PN 2.5 chassis, be careful in that the receiver has no cover to keep it in place. I've had mine get knocked loose a couple times in race conditions which makes steering go wacky. I might try heat shrinking a piece of wire and make a small clip to keep them tight together.

My family and I have 5 evo boards on pn chassis. We have used a 3m double sided tape between the reciever and main board to hold it in place. None of ours have come loose in many hours of practice and racing. The type of tape I used is 3m vhb 4910.

I could of sworn I've read about this already, but I just read through the evo thread and couldn't see it. I have an evo board and EX6r receiver installed in a PN2.5 chassis. After I bound it to my radio the wheels just turn all the way to the left and don't respond to radio input. I took the servo motor out and the pinion was just spinning. it did appear to change direction when I steered the wheel, but it does not when it is installed in the servo gears, and it never stopped spinning (which I assume it should do in neutral).

Like I've said, it seems like I have read about this before, anyone know how to fix my steering?

The other question I have is how to run a brushed PN70 motor on this. I have the new ICS (Although I can't get that driver working on it either, but haven't put much effort into that yet. I don't know why it isn't just on the USB, it seems they did not make this very user friendly). Specifically, how do I wire it with the three brushless wires?

Lastly, since I only purchased the board and receiver, I don't have an evo manual. Kyosho does not appear to have it on it's website. Anyone else found it?

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I've encountered this with someone else's new EVO, and was able to fix it with an ICS cable and the new EVO ics software. Bluetooth version won't work, and there's no Android version of the EVO software, so ya gotta use a PC.

There's a slider with a range of 0-256, and when it comes from the factory, the slider is jammed all the way to 256. Put it at 128.

As far as the brushed motor goes, I noticed the new Kyosho brushed motors for EVOs have the same bullet connectors as the brushless motors, and they have the red and yellow shrink tubing, so whichever pads the red and yellow wires went to, blue pad gets left empty.

manual: http://www.kyosho.com/jpn/support/in...R-03Evo_IM.pdf Page 39 shows motor wire polarity. Negative is red, yellow and blue are positive

I bought the stock EVO motor and robbed the leads for my 70t. red and yellow, ignore the blue lead. Must use ICS to change to brushed motor mode.

Thanks for the help. I have the ICS on my laptop, I've downloaded the driver and the program, but the program won't recognize the ics yet. I know a lot of people talked about that on this forum. I'll have to dive into that and see if I can get it to work.

Not sure if this is the best pace to put this, but I received an email this morning that Das Mikro is now making EVO receivers, at least in the MHS/ASF flavor. I didn't see them at the usual BG site, the email was for an auction. It was overly expensive, but will probably be cheaper elsewhere.

I did a bit of a search. Came up with an EVO clone PCB https://excelrc.com/excelrc-dasmikro...601-clone-evo/

Also ASF/MHS RX, and Noble RX.

My opinion would be for them to focus on developing things which are currently not available, like a sanwa capable receiver or EVO clone electronics with sanwa. The saving in cost to get the official model vs copy isn't substantial enough to consider at this time. Sanwa or Spektrum compatibility with EVO electronics is more appealing than saving $10-20 on an existing electronics package.

I think this is what I saw:
https://excelrc.com/excelrc-dasmikro...z-evo-chassis/

the auction I received the email for is 164400827343

and yes, unless they are <$25, I'll just use real ones.
