Hey guys long time no see, its looking like mini-z might start up in my area again and I'm flirting with dusting off my cars and putting them back on the track. I have a few MR02 with PN double A-Arms and 3 MR03's. Id like to start moving my MR-02's away from the FET'd AM boards they have but i have a question.
I remember when the first MR-02 2.4 cars came out they had that dumb delay before kicking into reverse.(i have one like that) I know you could adjust it and get most of the delay out but it never reacted like the MR-03 board did where reverse was instant right outta the box. I know kyosho revised the board on the MR-02 with the release of the black chassis 2.4 Mr-02, i remember reading the board on that model had no reverse delay what so ever. Is the board found on the Black chassis MR-02 Part number #MZ303? Can anyone confirm this? Also is it a direct drop in for an older grey chassis MR-02? Thanks for any and all help in advance guys!
the #MZ303 board is the original MR-02 2.4 ASF board, it will have the delay.
You want to look at the #MZ410 boards for the MR-03 to replace them so they won't have the delay. you'll need to change the servo motor as the 03 uses a different motor.
you can also look at the #MF18 it's for the F1 but will work with some wire adjustments. it does have the right servo motor though
you'll also need to cut holes for the plugs in your top cover or buy the 2.4 kit that has a new cover in it.

So even the black chassis mr-02ex has the delay too?
your best bet is to go with the 03 board or the MF18 F1 board that is essentially the 03 board with the correct servo motor setup.
Thank you, one more question. If i go the F1 board all i had to do is swap cables right do to length? I can always unsolder the AM wires that are already the perfect length and set them on the F1 Board correct?
Also the Mr-03 board works perfect with the Mr02 servo motor? i remember when they first came out there was some glitch issue with them? i might be mistaken, just trying to confirm.
And ofourse all this works fine on my Futaba 3PKS with Ko Propo module the same way it does on my normal MR03's right?

we have several guys that replace the boards in their F1's with the MF18 board and they operate just like the MR-03 boards. the only real difference is the length of the wires on the Pot and servo motor. you can swap out easy enough if you have some soldering skills. I haven't notice any glitching issues with them.

Brian, are the dimensions of the MF18 board the same as the 03 board, or are they the same as the 02 board. If I remember correctly, the 03 board is shorter and maybe narrower than the 02 board. I just don't have any 02s to compare to. Thanks!
