I adapted the C9 livery to the 599XX with a bit creative license in the interpretation. I used red accents on the front and rear end to bring a bit more color into the simple color palette. I also carried over the nod to yellow marking on the rear tail light.
This started life as a green metallic painted white body which I stripped the paint in a mix of ATF and Lacquer thinner. While it did strip the paint it also chemically altered the plastic making it soft, died it pink and when fully dried, the plastic flaked like a dry riverbead. I will not use that method to strip paint ever again.
The white base coat, black skirting were done with spray paints and all other colors and touch-up work was done with a detail brush. I made a huge mistake in picking the wrong white. My other 2 team cars are Matte Clamshell and this was meant to be an addition to that team and simply forgot which white and picked the wrong one. By the time I noticed, it was too late.
Yes original 599 rims... amongst all of the stock rims kyosho made, I like these the most... I forget the offsets though, but I believe they are pretty wide...
