Here's a pic of a project for truck wheels. They're the same Lego tires that WRCracer used on his Humvee, except I couldn't get them to fit over the Z wheels so I converted the Lego rims for the Z. The fronts are yellow and the rears are black. The difference being the yellow ones don't have the slots cut in them. To convert them, all you have to do is drill out the centers to fit the Z's bearing size and spacing, then cut the slots.
I also beveled the front of the battery case to give the larger wheels as tight a turning radius as possible. It actually makes a big difference.
All I need now is a body to suit these things. Any suggestions? I'm thinking the colour scheme could be yellow to black so the rims look thought out rather than just using what I had.

I'll post a real pic of the chassis once I get a hold of that camera again.

Oh, those tires, very cool! I was picturing the old-school super chunky ones. Those ones are also really nice and soft, I've used them on my RCX, they're great!

Body Suggestion

Ken,

Nice. How about a pic from the side so we can see how high the wheels sit

Black and yellow huh? Sounds like a base for those big black and yellow vehicles used by the Judges in the Judge Dredd movie.. yea, the Stallone one..

Ooh, no ball-diff, no alloy, no scratches on that chassis, looks as squeaky clean as a convent girl.. Madonna excluded *Hail Mary*

What Lego set/kit did they originate from?

That's my son's car (hence, no O-plate). He's pretty rough on it. I don't know why it looks so pristine in the scan. If you look close, the front body mount is broken.
I have to post actual pics later.

Those are tires of similar size, ones I almost bought but wasnt sure of.. but they are not the same tires from the hummer pics (unless he changed them since I last saw it) the other tires are very stretchy and squishy like sponge rubber... and they can be easily turned inside out they are so flexible/soft.

That's strange, the URL got chopped - anyway go to shop.lego.com and search for "tire" and then they are "Small Tires" for Technic.

Draconious, do you have the numbers "30.4 x 14" on your tires?
