Second MRB Cup Race in Sweden

This weekend the second leg of the Swedish Nationals was held in Karlskrona. In my opinion the best track in Sweden with it's elevated strait and up and down corners that requires good driving skills to master.

This year all good drivers was collected in the sam Raceclass with no turbo allowed.

There was a special cut video made last year and i guess that it will be made this year also but it will take som time. For now these uncut vids from some finals are the only thing to enjoy. Watch the fight in the B-Final. David in the black car wasn't the fastest but managed to hold on to the first spot thanks to Jonas eager to overtake befor the right moment cam across.

It's really a shame that Karlskrona MiniRacing Club has to leave the premisess and thus the track will become dust :-(.

The movies:
Karlskrona A-final 1
Karlskrona A-final 3
Karlskrona B-final
Karlskrona C-final

Only some of the battle in the B-Final is seen her. Jonas caught David 3 times during the 6 min race. With only 30 seconds to go he made the final attempt to pass David but cut the corner to tight when trying to pass and ended up just seconds after David. Hopefully Peter who also taped this has som gott pics of the battle.

... and remember this is a no-fet class too... we use foams, grp gandini up-front, and miniracingbolaget foams in the rear. foams give superior grip!

With high grip you don't want too much power. Stock FETs running an x-speed or great with lots of grip can be fast and handle fast. With too much power you start to exceed grip and your just fighting the car. Have yet to see the video but I've seen the others and they are really fast.

As Ola says we are running GRP GAnding/Powertires in the front and so called Super Rears in the rear.

The Super rears are produced by Miniracingbolaget, a retailer in Sweden. You do have to glue them on your own which is something you'd like to avoid if possible.

And of course you have to use a tire truer to get the tires into proper size. But we are always truing our tires into proper size. No one in top 6 ran with larger tires then 23mm front and 24mm rear.

The paddock usually get's smoking when the truers start to work when a new tirecombination is called out :-)

It's all kinds of springs and spacers in the front, with or without lowering the front with shims. Almost all drivers, naaaeee, all drivers in Sweden are using some Damper plate system. Atomic is popular but no many of us are using the Kyosho damper for the RM mounted on an MM, a bit tricky but it works.

Ola Westholm posted his setup earlier in this tread:
http://www.mini-zracer.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=19452

Gearing (9 pinion) and small changes to the setup was made for this track on my account otherwise I ran this setup.

Miniracingbolagets cup are using handout motors. Atomic stock is the one we are using.

The main track surface we are using in Sweden is some kind of rubber carpet. I think that it's used under the floor in sport areanas an so on. There has bee lost of discussion on this subject, search for Regupol.

And yes it's LapZ, you have good eyes :-)

Not the witdh, the diameter :-)
Our rules only allowes us to use 11,5 mm wide tires...

The house where the Karlskrona track is located will be renovated but the track constructor promisess that a new and better track will be built.
