that is wicked cool, you need to get some video of that chasing down a ferrari or a lambo.
Great work.

That look's very convincing, If I am running my cars and see that behind me I would "pull it over, buddy".

That's sweet!! I have a Police R34 with a working lightbar and head and tail lights. We use it occasionally for some 'Hot Pursiut' style racing. I'm doing another cop car using a Ferrari Modena as the body. I got a light bar from a 1:24 kit and will be using 2 programmable flashing light kits for the flash.
Very nice work though on your cruiser, it's inspiring and makes me want to do some research on SMD LEDs.

Brilliant job!
All thumbs (and toes) up! The car is simply awesome. You managed to avoid the mess I made with the wiring, the wigwags work and the car looks simply fantastic.
*Applause*
Cheers
Pippoe
Btw.. looking at the model.. Kyosho should have given a little more attention to the details.. the shell itself is about 1/31, but the Chevy sign on the hood is about 1/10..

First of all, if it weren’t for Pippoe I would never have tried to build this project and without his help, in the building process, I wouldn’t have been able to complete it.
Thanks for all the complements, It did turn out even beyond my expectations! I must admit it looks awesome on the track. It’s very cool running around with all the emergency lights on!
In my previous post I hadn’t installed the license plate, here’s a pic of the CHP car with the plate installed. http://mini-zracer.com/mini-zgallery...php?photo=3037
sayan, if you are interested in SMD LEDs check out this site, they have a good selection and information. http://www.lsdiodes.com/
Pippoe, from your experience I learned a lot!!! That made it possible for me to produce a cleaner wiring solution, I was able to build a “second generation” as it were.
minizawd2006, the R34 Skyline would be a slightly different project. The Light-Bar and Push-Bar on my CHP car are custom built to accept the SMD LEDs that are needed to create the strobe light effect. The Faller FCS-1 “fx” boards are purchased from Faller in Germany, unfortunately they are not paypal friendly so I had to have a friend in Germany buy them for me. The Kamikaze Light-Kit was even more difficult to obtain. After many attempts contacting Kamikaze with no success, Pippoe generously agreed to sell me an extra Light-Kit he had purchased from Kamikaze for a future project, very cool. I’m more than happy to email you with any information to help you with your project, if you want.
Here is a wiring schematic for the CPH car. http://mini-zracer.com/mini-zgallery...php?photo=3038
This is a wiring diagram I made by scanning the inside of the body and using a CAD program to create a 1:1 scale image of the wiring. http://mini-zracer.com/mini-zgallery...cat=500&page=1 This enabled me to determine proper wire lengths for final assembly.

Now that I’ve had some time to play with the CHP Caprice I must say it looks very realistic on the track, pretty amazing. It's surprisingly durable, I’ve had a couple of crashes and absolutely no damage, don’t want to test crash durability very much though.
The Kamikaze Light-Kit is basically a switch which draws power from the chassis and allows you to turn on the head & tail/brake lights with one stage then the emergency lights with the second stage, using the controller for your car. You can patrol with no lights, basic lights (head, tail/brake & license) or all lights (head, tail/brake & license + light-bar, wigwags, lateral flashers and push-bar). I made the Kamikaze Light-Kit removable so I could use it on some other projects, here’s a close-up of the body with the Light-Kit removed.

I really hope to be able to post some video of the Caprice on the track, with all lights blazing, soon.

Top Job
With American Style and German lighting technology you haver certainly pulled off a top cop cruiser. Congratulations and admirations.
I've been thinking of using the the CHP cruiser as a AWD drift car. Then you can replay all the cop chases from the TV shows of the past where the cops slide around wildly while the bad guys get away. Blues Brothers comes to mind (I know, wrong side of the country).

With that wide rear rubber you need a blower sticking out of the hood, I'm thinking of the movie Tommy Boy again.

Amazing pictures!
Congratulations on the additional pictures. Fantastic!
..and with the tuned chassis it'll be hard to outrun that cop car.
Well done!
Cheers
