Mini-ZRacer.com White Body Contest
Ever wondered what that 575 GTC with a question mark in the new header is? Well, the answer is - it could be you car - if you win our newest contest! Your challenge is to create the coolest Mini-ZRacer.com-themed body, starting from a blank White Body (enhanced AutoScales are not eligible). The body must have the MZR logo or "mini-zracer.com" somewhere on it, and we suggest using MZR colors (red, white, black, silver/grey), but this is not mandatory. To help you out, we have MZR decals, and now stickers, available for purchase in the shop:
http://shop.tinyrc.com/home.php?cat=280
as well as a huge range of White bodies:
http://shop.tinyrc.com/home.php?cat=276
The deadline for this contest is April 30th, 2006. Submissions will be via the MZR Gallery, and we will post more details soon, just wanted to give a heads up so you can get your hands on some White Bodies and start thinking about your designs etc. In addition to the submitted picture, we ask that you take a few build-up photos, e.g. masking and first coats, etc., in order to prove ownership. You must paint your own body, bodies painted by someone else are not eligible.
Please post questions to this thread - can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Just one question, this is just the Kyosho white body sets and not the Atomic VDS body right? Or is the Atomic VDS body allowed? I have a few white bodies on hand just need to pick one to do up.

I would discourage VDS bodies since they're not as distinctly "Mini-Z"-ish so wouldn't make a very good header graphic, as they could be mistaken for a larger scale RC.

I understand, just wanted to get that clear as I am sure someone would have wondered about that.
Just placed another order, even though I have one that still needs to clear.

another clarification.... we don't have to start with a white body do we? what i have in mind will be significantly easier if i start with a solid color background.

Arch, if you you look closely at mimi-z's first post he says "starting from a blank White Body (enhanced AutoScales are not eligible)".

I am sticking to the rattle cans myself, though I may be using a different brand of paint. Right now I am waiting for a package to come in. I am also tossing around ideas for a few different bodies (all unpainted ones). Trying to play Chip Foose, with a few layouts.

I'll have to give you credit for that Mustang you did, it has all the right colors. It was also a total repaint, and on a body you can get unpainted as well.

Cool! I'm looking forward to seeing your layouts. Considering Chip Foose is a master with an airbrush, I'm interested in your technique, with rattle cans, to create a like painting scheme.

Just trying to have a little fun with it, I am no Chip Foose by a longshot. Just trying to keep the simple three color layout, maybe four if I use white in the design. I may have to use the white, so it would not look like "The A Team" van.

I was just kidding comparing you to Chip Foose. I'm very interested to see your entries.
