Looking for new charger

OK so I've been happy with the IC3 chargers I've been using for the last few years but I a now having charging issues. I see quite a bit of talk about the LaCrosse and Maha chargers. I know they have different feature sets but I don't know what is important and what is just for wow factor. Will I notice a difference between them. I really don't know much about chargers or batteries (heck I a still getting my head around how to set up a car.) So for the neophyte, which is easier to operate? Will I be missing soething crucial with one or the other? If I do switch what betteries will give me siilar perforance to the IC3 (high punch)? Or am I missing the point all together and should I be considering soething else in my battery choice. We pretty much run 8 minute mains exclusively.

Thanks in advance for any help and for your opinions.

I think Intellects have the greatest following with the faster racers on this forum (I am not one of them) but I hear that at the big races that there are many brands in use. Some of us are now trying out the Fujicells. I expect it will be months until they are well tested and compared though.

There are two new chargers that have features that were previously unavailable to us in small chargers. The Lacrosse BC-900 and the Maha C9000. Both are programable for each of four AA or AAA batteries individually for charge and discharge rates and are capable of giving the user true battery capacity. The Maha C801D will not measure true battery capacity but charges eight batteries at 700mAh automatically. It also has a conditioning function (very important) for forming new batteries and batteries that have not been used for over three weeks. Very easy to use.

There is a wealth of information on this forum about these issues in current ongoing threads. Read up a little and decide which is the one for you.

I actually read all the posts but was looking to see if someone could compare the 2 or just real world experiences from users. Also looking for important features. Like battery conditioning.
