Project; Demon Seed

This is a rough layout at this time. I need to make a better plate, I used this thick styrene sheet to get my layout down. I still need to trim some more off so I can set the wheelbase as short as I can. The idea is a six wheeled car on the MR015 chassis. Using an HM front box and RM for the rear box. Nevermind the missmatched wheels. I just wanted to make sure everything was in a staight line and the spacing is right. I am also working on a custom car body, I will show that at a later time.

yes hammerz.... thats the ticket...i did the truck because the body was easier to do do as a hauler/flatbed. the next thing is front and/or rear dual setups or dual fronts like the 6 wheel f1 from the past!!! nice t plate!!!

Yes, the Tyrrell P34 six wheeler. I built the Tamiya F103 kit about a month ago. Trying that for the Mini Z's would be quite a trick. I ran into some other six wheelers on a search [Tyrrell P34] that turned up a bunch of stuff on wikipedia and a few other sites. I have been on a six wheeler bender as of late. I may post a picture or two of it later.

I am going to redo the bottom plate, not that I have my spacing all worked out. It works out to 27mm from the front mount to the rear mount. I may use a standard CF T plate from the chassis, with a custom made bridge piece to connect the two mounts. This way I keep enough flex to allow all four drive tires to get the traction they need. Just one question about the motors, do I wire them in series or parallel?

Tyrrell P34 album I may be adding some other pictures of my other larger cars soon.

I made a bridge piece from an old Paypal card, with a standard plate up front. I also used normal 0 offset wheels for a baseline to check the body with. The body will be altered. The rear bumper will be set back some, and the doors will be dog legged. The old AMT kit I dug out of my model pile. This is one I worked on years ago, and forgot about. Anyway a few more pictures here.

Here's the brass link I made for the top. With the screws loose to allow the flex for the rear box to follow the surface.

I did a test drive with the chassis. With two stock motors wired up, one of these is very old. I had to oil it to cut the noise. Both with 6 tooth pinions. one gear diff and one ball diff. With the old ASC tires. I do like the way it drove. I tried everything to get the rear to swing out. But the important thing is it will turn, and it turns well for a six wheeled monster. Even with the stock motors the batteries got warm, not hot just warm. I am afraid to use anything more than stock motors with the stock fets. After the run I am amped up again on this project. It is comming together well.

Hehe, the two pairs of front wheel setup of the Tyrrell P34 might be more difficult to pull off at this scale, but you're on track to build the Williams FW08-6W. Early in the 80's, it supposedly led to the FIA specifically ruling that F1 cars had to have 4 wheels after it shattered some lap records.

Keep us posted on your progress!

I made a little vid (QuickTime) of the running. Soon afterward it quit running forward. I took the chance to install the 4562 fets that I had to replace the 3004's with. That woke it up some.

That was my idea! Remember? I wanted to take two F1 chassis and modify theme for the six-wheeled racer! Never did anything with the idea though.

Here's the last two chassis shots. All it needs now is another gear diff. I may later get another ball diff for this. I was wanting two gear diffs to see how the chassis is hooking up. The tires are Kyosho MT 40 deg for the rear four, this thing gets enough traction as it is. The front tires are softer to help with the turning. All 11mm tires.
