The Ready to Run kit comes with a tool to remove the nuts. I suggest you purchase some alloy nuts from the shop here and at the same time buy the Atomic 3 in 1 tool. The tool has a cross tip screw driver, hex key, and wheel nut socket.
The stock MR01 plastic nuts are 5.5mm in size. Without the red T tool I have used my fingernails to twist them off. Then the 4.5mm locknuts to replace them with. Those MR01 nuts are known to strip out very quickly. For nutdrivers make sure you get a thin walled type. I have also used the Tamiya four way tools that come in the 1/10 kits, you can get those separately. Those are good to have on hand. Just look for a Tamiya Tool Bag.
Just order the Atomic ones in a color of your choice along with their tool. I bought the nuts and not the tool and the cheap plastic Kyosho one has already stressed in the weak parts and basically broke.
