2.4Ghz Module mod. for Futaba 3PKS

Thanks Philip/PN for doing the first 2.4Ghz modification for Futaba 3PKS that I know of, and Maj from MHS for emailing me some pictures of the mod. Here is my take on it, can't wait to run some 2.4Ghz Mini-Z.

I don't know if there will be any ill effects running the antenna like that.

I wonder if I can do this with my JR R1... maybe make my outdated radio useful in 1/28th. I have no clue what pin would go where though.

I was told that JR Propo and KO Propo are pretty much the same thing, but I'd hate to fry something.

It looks fairly straightforward...

Trim bottom plate to allow pins to line up
Trim box side so it fits the width of the 3PK.
Change the inner tab configuration to conform(similar to AD)
shape 3PKcover plate to allow for antenna knob to fit.

My thanks to everyone who's performed this mod before me...now if I lose my FM bid (for the case) I can still modify what i have following some great photo tuts.

If there was rep here I'd be overloading you guys.

Now that I look at this some more, I notice that you probably can't trim the asf module board like the AD module...there seems to be an important aspect of the board down in the lower left corner(in the pic at the top).

I think the box trimming modification that phillip has done is a better idea than a switch to a 3PK case...unless the asf board fits without any trimming.

I guess I'll wait and see...my asf system(for car) arrived today but the module is (hopefully) somewhere in the mail system.

Mode

In what mode you put the 3PK? PPM,PCM or HRS?
Can you compare the speed betwin the Kyosho ASF and the Futaba with Ko-Pro Module?

Thanks

probably a stupid question, but still: will the futaba's 2.4 FASST module work with mini-z?
