ICS Port and Transponders

Is there any reason not to power a transponder with ICS port? I'm doing this now with my Robitronic transponders, but was not sure if this may harm something else.

To use the ISC Port is the fastes way to switch the transponder between the cars.

That's the Robitronics transponder right? Does it register fine through the tinted windshield like that? We're setting up a track for friendly racing and considered getting one of those scoring systems, but I had my doubts about the IR signal getting through the windshield.

Sorry for the hijack

Provide me with specifics on which wires...

I just bought the Mini JST plugs that have 3 wires (red, black and white in that order) I assume I only need two of these wires to power my iLap transponder. Which wires do I use to power up my transponder.

I've attached a picture of the plugs I just bought for reference.

Yes, you only need the rear two. Rearmost is ground and middle is hot.

Does any one know the current draw of an AMB PT, I have wired mine to the ICS but seem to have a weaker signal. Not sure the board is supplying enough juice to it. While my 02 works fine my 2.4 F1 now misses laps with the transponder in the same location as it was when it was wired to the battery leads. Has anyone seen any degradation of signal with other types of transponders?
