MR-03 Sport Board in F1?

I have put an MR-03 ASF board in an F-1 with success, but can the MR-03 Sport boards handle the load from the extra weight of an F-1 chassis?

Bump. Any thoughts? I have no experience with Sports FHS boards, but if the old AM board could push an F1 around the track, I would expect the Sports board should be able to do the same.

I agree with your thoughts on load but stock motor only would be likely

at worst, you burn up a fet, which is actually cheap to replace provided you can or know someone who can solder them on/off.

can the sports be upgraded with fets on the bottom to match ASF?

Thank you both. I was just reading in a different thread that the original Sports board (RA29) has space for a second pair of FETs on the underside whereas the Sports 2 board (RA33) does not!

If you limit yourself to a 6T pinion with a 50 turn or less motor (Kyosho X Speed, for example), I'll bet you will have no problem. The old AM F1 cars used to ship with X-Speed motors and we all know how prone those old boards were to cooking FETs.

Don't quote me though If you do try it, just take it easy and check the temperature of the FETs every few laps until you're sure they're not heating up like crazy. It's normal for them to get warm of course.

I would put a 2 layer stack on the fets if you can. The stock fets should handle a 50t/48t motor... But not much more.
