MR02 PCB into a F1
Can you stick a MR02 PCB into a F1 chassis? What connections are needed to be done. Thanks in advance.

i think u can~ (not sure)
the pcbs of all the minizs are actually the same dimension, jsut that the components on the board are soldered on different sides.
i transplanted my mr02 pcb to a mosnter and it woks perfectly fine.

I don't think the 02 board will work on the F1, the crystal placement is different.

hmm... i don't see the logic of putting the mr02 board in the f-1... in my opinion the f-1 board seems ok... and as capt oversteer mentioned the crystal placement is different

the only thing that the MR02 is better than all the other PCBs is that it can accept up to 10V power supply.
this 10V is not about the motor or the FETs, the 10V seen on the mr02 pcb will allow you to use powersupply up to 10V while not affecting the receiving.
if u use 6 -8 cells on other pcbs, the steering will shake a lot more often

Besides the new F1 board is different from the old F1 board; however, my guess is that one reason the board was changed was because of the radio change. For those in doubt, I uploaded comparison photos of the F1 boards to Gallery TNB sometime ago. You'll notice one component missing on the new F1 board which also doesn't appear on the MR-02 board--a small silver box with an adjustment. If that box has nothing to do with the older radio, I'd appreciate someone explaining to me what it was for. My next question then is would that also mean that the older F1 board actually have more options or adjustability than the newer F1 and MR-02 boards?

My F1 PCB was broken a while ago, and I've put a new MR-02 PCB on my F1. Yes, you need to place the christal holder in a different position, but that is quite easy to do. Heat the 2 points of the chrystal holder sticking out from the back at the same time and them push them out together. Reconnect them again using small wires ... like done on the real F1 PCB.
After that, you need to make the wires for the on/off switch longer as they will be too short. For the rest, it all fits fine.
I don't see why you want and 10 Volt PCB on a F1 ... there's no extra room for extra batteries any way.
I thought the MR-02 PCB would have more punch than the F1 PCB (which is the case for MR-01 and MR-02 PCB, the MR-02 is more punchy), but it did not change anything.

if you run the CP car conversion then there is plenty of room for extra batteries

BUt if you fry an F1 board I have never seen a replacement board. The only option I can see is the MR02 board with the crystal change. I have recently acquired a MR02 board that I plan on installing in my F1 (the old F1 board has become my practice board and is beyond repair).
