Basically, the EX-6R will do ASF and MHS. The EX-2 and EX-RR will only do MHS, and KO Propo FHSS (not for Mini-Z).
If you have any existing ASF cars then EX-6R is the one to get.
If you don't have any ASF cars than either an EX-2 or EX-RR will be fine, can be used with a VE-PRO or EVO car. And you can use it for larger scales as well.
An EX-2 is less expensive than an EX-6R. An EX-RR is more, it has some steering spring and throttle geometry improvements.
Thanks for the link and the information, that's very helpful.
I'm surprised there is no "one controller to rule them all". Disappointing that you may need two higher end controllers if you had a wide range of mini-z.
On that note, I've been watching some of the Team Mini-z videos and the Flysky Noble NB4 looks to be an interesting option. Does anyone know how this would stack up in the compatibility chart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR2GmRzI6PM

art4242 covered it all basically ...just to add that the "R" designated radio's trigger potentiameter unit is a different more advanced and much more sensitive unit and it does make a noticeable difference, I had a chance to test them back to back just by changing the trigger unit on the radio and driving the same car.
Also a heads up that if you're thinking about picking up a new KO radio their new model with lay down trigger design and other improvements is about to be released in the coming months . Search KO Propo EX-LDT radio system on redrc to check it out.
